I highly recommend these scissors. This is the third pair of kitchen scissors I've owned. I used a Chicago Cutlery pair that came with a knife set for 30 years but they have been dull for years. Then I bought a less expensive pair that wouldn't cut butter in no time at all. These are the best scissors I've ever owned, by far. They are very sharp and cut everything with ease. They can also strip the leaves off parsley and herbs with a notch in the handles - very handy. You must treat them like a good knife and wash them by hand but that's a small price to pay for something that works like a good knife. In general, I am finding that everything I buy from OXO is great from kitchen tools to toilet brushes. OXO products are great, and these are no exception! I wanted a new pair of kitchen shears because my old (cheap) ones were not strong enough to do a good job when used to spatchcock (butterfly) a whole chicken. These OXO shears make cutting out the backbone so easy! They're sharp, sturdy, and easy to hold even for these 70-year old hands. Over the years we've used many different scissors in the kitchen, from cheap dollar store ones to construction grade ones. A while back I bought these OXO kitchen shears after reading a lot of reviews. They have been fantastic! They seem to cut everything with no issue. Easy to clean. Feel solid in your hands. I buy a lot of Oxo kitchen items, as I've found, like many people I think, that their stuff is pretty consistently good quality and value for money. And this is no exception. Good feel in the hand, smooth action, easy to disassemble and reassemble. Cut well and has the proper shearing action that scissor should have to work properly along the entire length of the blade (unlike cheaper scissors which often only work near the pivot or near the tip, but not both). There is a reason these are top rated. They come apart when you want them to but not when you don't. They cut well and are reasonably priced so you don't feel bad using them. I had some older $12 shears and they broke. Spend the extra money and buy these they are great.
