I absolutely didn’t know I needed this tool rest…until I bought it and used it! I used to set my grill tools on the side table or hang them from the hooks on the side. The problem was that grease would either get the side table dirty or drip onto my patio. This little tool rest was just what I needed to keep the mess contained. It’s easy to clean, heat resistant, and even holds your tongs. I don’t put silicone in the dishwasher because that tends to leave spots, but a quick wipe with a sponge/scrubber and a rinse with hot water are all I’ve needed to do. It’s slip resistant and makes for a great place to put my Thermopen without me worrying it will get knocked off. And it’s durable!     • Spatula Blade Too Thick and Stiff

Yes, it is sturdy and well constructed by a very good company, but no chef (I’m hardly one) would use this stiff, thick blade to grill, if they were searing. Searing requires a relatively sharp blade to get close to the grill to preserve the sear (crusty stuff). I didn’t realize this until my son bought a custom made spatula with a nice edge with flex. You don’t have to custom order one, tho, there are plenty of good ones on Amazon, but the blade has to have flex and be thin. This one is not! ... show more

I've used a lot of different grilling tongs, and these are by far the best! They are sturdy and well made, they are a solid construction that allows you to grip heavy meat without the tongs bowing. They touch at the very tip so you can also pick up small things like asparagus.
