I haven't used it in water yet since it's Feb and I'll have to wait until May but wearing it seems like it's think and will keep me warm. I only had 3 mm wetsuit up until now so I'm excited to use this one. All my previous wets suits were size small. I haven't gained weight or changed sizes. So I recommend to size up for this one. I was needing to get into the 56°f pool for cleaning. I waited for this suit. It kept me at a Perfect Comfortable temp. In fact I was way too hot in it until I got into the water. I'm typically a size sm to medium so based on the reviews I went up one size and got a Large It was quite a bit of effort getting myself into it and had to peel it off like a banana (I almost panicked trying to get it off) XL would have been easier perhaps. That being said it fit like skin and didn't allow the freezing water in. Instructions (I read afterwards) suggest using a lotion on wrists and ankles for easier dressing. I might bathe in that GENEROUSLY next time 😆 ... show more

The material lining the neoprene is soft and comfortable, and it kept me warm today in 52F water. I even had room inside for my extra layer surf top. This wetsuit is much better than my old 5mm one. It is much easier to put on and take off, and is quite supple, where the old one was much stiffer fabric and uncomfortable. And the old one cost more. I consider this wetsuit a bargain. Keeps me comfortable in 58 degree water.
