  • It does what is says but with heavy caveats
Color: Deep Sea Green
I've labored over what to write because I'm glad I bought this product but I'm also very disappointed with the quality for the price as you've seen from other reviewers. It's a great idea and even in it's current state it's a helpful tool but I think you should know a few things going in. You'll see a lot on people medical professionals not recommending this and FDA stuff yada yada yada, which was echoed by our nurses (they did not recommend it) but this centers around two things (keep in mind this is my own research so do your own on these). 1 FDA - It seems this is basically that the FDA considered this a medical device which requires certain tests and verifications and what most things seems to come down to which is money. Owlette didn't want to pay fees for the testing required so they changed the product to not require FDA certification or whatever it is called. 2 Medical professionals don't recommend - All our nurses advised against the product but for the same reason, false positives. Our son had to spend two weeks in a special care nursery where his pulse and O2 were measured by the medical version of this product which costs thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. That device did the same thing this sock does which is give you ample amounts of false positives. That machine and this sock are very prone to being knocked off by the kicking of a baby, particular an awake and hungry baby in our case. With that said below is my fool pros and cons list: Pros: 1. it gives us great peace of mind - you're likely looking at this for the same reason we bought it, which is nightmare stories of SIDS. Despite it's many issues I'm confident it's reading our child's vitals within a margin of error to alert us if they dip too low. 2. It is relatively easy to use - You need the app for more info on what's happening but you can also use stand alone the sock and base. This is helpful for traveling if you don't have wifi. There are three alerts Green (normal readings) Yellow (Trouble getting reading) Violet (Baby needs assistance). Technically there's also flashing green (obtaining signal) and white (the sock is charging) 3. Doesn't seem to bother the child - Despite him kicking it off as babies are wont to do he seems indifferent to it being on or off which I read as it being reasonably comfortable. He also has sensitive skin which this doesn't seem to irritate. Cons 1. False Positives - the nurses were right and this gets kicked off all the time. It's not as often as they said but it's frequent enough to be a con. Think 4-5 times a week. Again, I think it's just the nature of something for babies like this. If sleep is your top priority though you will want to research other solutions as this is going to affect it. 2. The app is bad - We also bought the cam which this allows you to combo into one screen which is nice but it has many issues. Despite repositioning as a "sleep quality" monitor the app doesn't really allow you to do anything with that. Also it's clunky to install/setup and there are multiple versions of the app and products to add to confusion. It also lags sometimes and it doesn't indicate it's not live. I think they tried to simplify things but missed the target. I haven't had wifi issues others had despite a basic one router set up that is on a different floor but it does say connection is just fair. 3. Lack of features - Similar to above I think they over simplified too much. The base needs to shut off the sock but it requires a memorized clicking/plugging in sequence instead of just a button or switch. Once the child is old enough to be sleep trained it'd also be great to lengthen the snooze feature but that's not an option. you also can't adjust the volume of the alarms or what the noise they make. This might be picky but again this is a $300 product which feels like it should pack a lot more than it does. Overall - I'd say there's just two camps on this. Do you want to know for sure your baby is still breathing? this will do that. Do you want a top tier product that will maximize your peace of mind with sleep and functions? This falls woefully short and leaves me scratching my head at some decisions. I'm still glad I bought this in hopes it spurs more products that have the same goal but function better. I also think it fits our needs but there is significant room to improve in almost ever facet. ... show more

  • Great peace of mind
Color: Mint
Works great, exactly as described. We are able to track our child's sleep quality through the night. The app is easy to use and set up the dream sock. The O2 stats are over an average of 10min and not real time. Everything else is real time. It does require a separate app from the previous versions as well. Overall, it works great for us and our situation. ... show more

  • Absolutely worth the splurge
Color: Mint
This was one of two things I had to have for my newborns sleep. The other was a Newton mattress, which I love but I’m not ready to let my newborn sleep in his crib in his room, I want him in my room in the bassinet. The sock gives me peace of mind as it monitors him. It came highly recommended, and totally worth it. As a new mom, you already worry, get less sleep, but this helps me to relax, and trust that his safety is being monitored. I wish it came with an option to switch up feet, and not just use the right foot; would prefer to choose either ... show more

  • It’s alright
Color: Mint
Overall it’s a good product. Few things, when I first opened the brand new box, between the Wi-Fi, the base and the sock, they didn’t want to connect to each other especially the base. I had to get the company to help me do it in depth. There is always a connection issue, not a placement issue with the sock, connection. Even with a strong Wi-Fi system, the base ALWAYS disconnects from the sock at random times and you never know when it will connect back or if it will connect back. I’ve been using it for a while now and it still does this. 300$ product and you would think it would have zero issues. I got this product to ease my mind and sleep better and sleep throughout the night but I still can’t/don’t. Especially not knowing what’s really happening with my newborn. ... show more

  • Excellent Product
This is the best money I spent. I bought this for my Granddaughter and her husband for our Great Grandson. This Monitor is REMARKABLE! They can BOTH monitor the baby on their phones. She is EXTREMELY HAPPY! HAS ALL THW BELLS AND WHISTLES and is very easy to use. Can't put a price in kids safety. WELL WORTH THE MONEY! Would recommend to EVERYONE! ... show more

  • Does not alert
Color: Mint
This sock does not send you alerts. The old “smart sock” was able to but you can not even download the app for it on iPhone anymore. The dream sock just tracks your babies sleeping vitals, it won’t tell to you if their oxygen or heart rate has stopped. It is not giving live readings. It is my fault for not doing further research before purchasing product. I have friends who recommended this sock but they used it a couple years ago and did not realize it had changed. If you are sleep training, this would be a good product but not something to give a new mom peace of mind. I ended up going with the Eufy monitor. It tracks less but gives heart rate alerts in real time. ... show more

  • Miss the first model.
Color: Dusty Rose
Honestly I’m so disappointed with this model. I have the old sock, I wish the app still worked with it because I’ve had nothing but issues with this one. It constantly disconnects from my internet even tho the internet is working fine. It doesn’t track her all of the sleep, it’ll have random 2-4 hour gaps missing from the night. Very frustrating. ... show more
