First, this device is pretty small. I won't post more pictures because the ones already posted are accurate. While it's small, it's pretty sturdy. Setup was very, very quick. I knew that ice water would be needed for best results so I had ice and cold water ready. I literally pulled the portable device out the box, opened the tank, filled it with ice and water and plugged it in. I'm going to be honest, I was initially very unimpressed. It felt like any old counter fan. I immediately wondered how this had so many good reviews, but since I wanted to give it a full chance, I decided I would let it run for half an hour before putting it away. That was the right decision. As people have said, this isn't going to cool a large space, but the air in front of you gets significantly cooler. I checked it next to a regular fan that's a slightly larger counter fan and the air around this device was noticeably much cooler. I was concerned the mist would be too damp, but even at its highest it's not really wet. Still, I moved some library books and an important paper out of the way just in case. Please remember that this isn't going to feel like you've plugged a window unit or central air in. It's cool enough to make you not feel miserably hot and if you're in a big room, you'll want more than one device or a supplementary fan. Pros: 1. So easy to use that setup is less than five minutes. Really. 2. Compact and easy to move. I was concerned about this since other models have handles, but it's easy to maneuver. 3. Mist is refreshing. 4. Really works. Sounds like an obvious need for a pro, but I'm shocked that it works this well. 5. The fan is quiet. There's only a slight hum compared to other fans. 6. Lights are a nice touch. Cons: 1. It could be a few dollars cheaper. 2. If this had a way to charge it via USB (for when the power goes out or to travel) it would be perfect. In fact, I debated between this and another model because of the lack of USB charge. 3. There's the sound of water. You can hear it. If you're sensitive to that, you may want to avoid this model. 4. There's a little bit of condensation that collects on the inner rim and around the base with cold water and ice. Because of how the tank is built in, the condensation on the base doesn't really drip, but you don't want to put anything that might get wet immediately around it. If you touch the condensation on the inner rim, it'll drip down the device. I'm a bit clumsy so I purposely touched it to see if it would drip. It's not likely to be a problem if no one touches it. I put a little towel down under it to collect anything that might accidentally fall though. Overall, this is what I was hoping for and I'm happy with the purchase, the quick delivery, and the packaging. ... show more

I'm not going to add pictures because there are already enough on here. I don't like these fans with the bottom water base, because it requires you to pull off the top, and they seldom come completely off. On this fan, you have to un-clip the entire fan from the base, and it still just folds over as you can see in the other review photographs. This can be a pretty big inconvenience if you have limited desk space, or if you have it on the corner of your desk and you need to move it to fill up the water bin. Now I know it has a flap to pour in water, but I don't necessarily like doing that with the water in a small reserve slot, given I have electrical cables on the floor under my desk. It's also not practical to pour ice into. So I drop one star for the design, and one for the price. If I spent another $30, I could get an entire window until on sale at sam's club. Obviously if that was an option I would have done it, but it's still overpriced. It does cool like all the other desktop A/C units, and it has a very nice design, and the sound, even on high,. is pleasant. I'll probably hold on to it and put it in my guest room, but I will definitely be purchasing a top load model for my office. ... show more

It is not a true "Air conditioner" as we are not near being able to replicate that kind of technology in a portable, small unit yet. So I think a majority of the bad reviews on this product comes on people's perception of that word alone in the description. For what it is though it is great for the price and cool air it provides. Especially for a small space. In a master bedroom my girlfriend can feel this fan pointed towards here from across the room at max settings with the cool air function on. 1 Water bottle's worth will fill it up, and it lasts quite a while too. 4 stars only because I do not find it easy to clean compared to everyone else.. maybe it's because I use mine every day and non stop and while I do clean it regularly (soap + water, then let it do 1 full cycle with water + rubbing alcohol, then 1 full cycle of just water, Q-tips for corners and the inner circular tube) I find that it builds up that "pink foam" (bathroom kind of mold layer) super fast and the smell it takes on from that horrible. ... show more

I've only had this fan for a couple of months and already it is malfunctioning. The light keeps turning on and off by itself when I operate other electronics. The cool feature has stopped functioning regularly - it works some of the time, which isn't acceptable in 80 degree temperatures. And now recently it is unable to remain in "crazy" mode and continues to switch back to the lowest fan speed. Hard pass on this fan. It's a regrettable purchase. This is a wonderful little air conditioner/ humidifier. It is very easy to use and can be moved anywhere that has a power outlet. It works perfectly to cool my bedroom or work desk at the office. The noise level is low so I don't have to turn it off when I am on the phone. I prefer this model over another kind I purchased because it has a larger fan and the output of cool air is twice as much at any speed level. The only negative factor is the small water tank. At the lowest speed with the cool button setting to on, the water lasts only two hours at the most. If I raised it to the higest speed, the water tank would be empty in just over 30 minutes. It's bothersome to keep filling the tank every 30 to 40 minutes. ... show more
