  • Much better than eSun for me.
Color: 1kg White
i’m actually very impressed with the Overture brand white filament. I’ve had no particular issues with stringing, absolutely no breakage and good success with everything that I’ve printed using it. In the photograph, you can see the body component of a clone versus the helmet.-The overture brand is what the body is made of, which has a very clean white appearance. The top of the helmet that you see is done in eSun standard white, which is not true white and had substantial breakage problems and stringing. In my experience, I would recommend using overture brand over eSun. ... show more

  • Beautiful!
Color: Glow Blue
I ordered black and glow in the dark blue for my first order in a brand new printer. On my first print the filament go tangled and caused some layering issues. I cut it off and started over making sure I held the spool tight. Now I have had zero issues and my second print came out perfect. The kids love the color and the fact that it glows in the dark. ... show more

  • Excellent Filament for My Anycubic Vyper
Color: 1kg Black
The OVERTURE PLA Filament is a perfect match for my Anycubic Vyper 3D printer. It’s an economical choice that delivers on quality, and I’ve had no issues using it. The material seems to be exactly as advertised, with consistent diameter and good tolerance, which is crucial for smooth printing. I’ve been able to achieve great print results, and I attribute the success to a combination of the printer, slicer settings, and this reliable filament. It doesn’t detract from the quality of the prints at all, which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. If you’re looking for a cost-effective filament that performs well, I highly recommend this one. ... show more

  • Great prints, but tricky to start when first switching to this.
Color: Green
I have the CR-10 v3. This was the first spool of filament I bought after using up the pack that was included with my printer, and not going to lie, it gave me a lot of issues at first -- bad bed adhesion, the first layer just wouldn't stick, there were bubbles, and I would have random strings sticking out. All when it was printing perfectly fine with the previous filament. After a lot of print tests, research and some good ol' cleaning, I now get beautiful prints from the Overture PLA filament. Not all the printing issues I had were due to the filament. It was my first time changing out the filament, and I wasn't exactly being gentle when trying to switch it out, so my leveling was most likely off. But I also found that this filament needed temps that are higher than the default settings I was previously using. After searching on these reviews for suggestions on settings, it was printing better, but the first print adhesion was STILL not great and I had to watch the first layer like a hawk. I think I see residue from all the testing and failed prints getting smooshed too close to the bed, but scraping wasn't working, and the screen cleaner that has worked fine in the past doesn't seem to be doing anything. Finally decided to bring out the isopropyl alcohol AND I FINALLY HAD BEAUTIFUL PRINTS. One star off because it can be pretty tricky to get the settings and adhesion dialed in to start, and as a 3D printing newbie I got so frustrated that I almost gave up, but it I got great prints once I got it figured out. Photo (after changing the temp settings. edges are jagged because the leftover brim hasn't been sanded off yet): Left Print - before cleaning the bed with alcohol. Right Print - after cleaning. New Temperature Settings: Print Temp (nozzle) - 210 C Plate Temp (bed) - 60 C ... show more

  • Updated Review: Great product, just be careful with your retraction settings.
Color: Silk Copper
UPDATE: I found that this filament needs slightly lower retraction settings than I use on other silk filaments, and I had to disable z-hop as well. The z-hop (because its a vertical motor movement, which takes longer than X & Y) would take a fraction of a second before actually moving out of the Z axis. And this fraction of a second let some filament ooze out of the nozzle, which over several layers would result in long blob strings building up over time (seen in the retraction towers photo). I've uploaded some more recent photos that are 100x better (though there's still a slight bit of stringing, its such a minor amount that it doesn't bother me). I've attached photos of the material settings I had to make for overture silk filaments. Hopefully it helps others. Leaving my below (now inaccurate) review in case it's similar to the experience someone else may be having. ORIGINAL (Inaccurate) REVIEW: I personally really like Overtures PLA filaments. I would say maybe 1/3rd of my filaments are from them. And I've printed a decent amount of silk PLA as well (just not Overture brand). I purchased the Overture Silk Copper PLA filament, and the first thing I printed was a filament sample. And the majority of the surface looked ok except for the one spot with the letters "PLA". I figured maybe it was just something minor and went on to try printing a turbine for a model of a jet engine, and as you can see in the photos, it was absolutely disastrous. I put it next to another silk print of the same part and print settings (I actually just reprinted the same model/gcode after changing the filament. I dried the filament then tried increasing/decreasing the temperature, retraction distance/speed, print speed, z-offset, and tried printing various calibration towers for speed, temperature and retraction. And the globing/stringing is present. I Googled "overture silk PLA issues" and it looks like this is a somewhat common problem with Overtures silk PLA filaments. I will still continue to buy from Overture, but not for silk filaments. If I ever find a combination of settings that prevent these issues, I will be sure to update this post with those values. Thanks. ... show more
