    • Addictive, Difficult, Frustrating but a great Couch Co-op Game
Top tip: after playing this for ages, we discovered there's an option to practice each mission. You switch to practice mode on the map screen. In practice mode, there is no timer. It's still strangely addictive, even with no timer. Then, when you are ready, you can attempt the mission normally. We found this far less frustrating. My kids were put off by how hard it is when you first start a timed mission. You almost always fail because it takes you a while to work out where all the ingredients are on the screen, and the clock is ticking. Now I call that fun, but kids these days seem to hate failing at things. The practice mode made the entire experience more fun. This is a great couch co-op game. The fun comes from having to co-operate to succeed - you work out a strategy which performs the best for your play style and the mission. For example, I am terrible at multitasking, so I usually have a straightforward routine of, say, cooking and washing the dishes, while the other player pays attention to what ingredients are needed for each order. Of course, the missions get harder and there are a lot of things the game throws at you to disrupt your flow, which leads to inevitable chaos and vegetables all over the floor. The trick is to get as many orders met early on and try to prevent chaos ensuing for as long as possible, hopefully until the timer runs out. Overall, a great family game, although very young children might have a hard time understanding what to do. This game is super fun and forces you to work on your communication skills. You have to work together in order to pass levels and earn the number of stars you want. It’s a fun family game, but also fun to play with your partner.

My partner and I get way too serious about this game, but it's been great learning to work together and come up with strategies to get the highest scores. There's so much more to play, and we never get tired of it

My boyfriend actually got this game before me. We played it together and I fell in love. It is so charming and a very fun game that doesn't get repetitive at all. Each world is different enough that it keeps you engaged.

My wife didn't believe this game was so buggy until I rage-broke my $60 Dualshock controller and she finally tried it herself. The level pause menu while in progress is hit & miss on actually being able to restart or quit, meaning if you messed up early, half the time you'll have to play out the rest of the round until trying again. Sometimes food items could not be dropped, other times the items you are trying to drop into a pot/skillet/mixing bowl would mysteriously just "swap" places, resulting in you walking away for another item, only to find that you've been carrying the receptacle away. A few times I even "warped" halfway across the screen, actually putting my character on top of a table--not a gamebreaker in itself, but yet another issue I NEVER experienced with the online individual packs I purchased and have enjoyed until this special edition disc (PS4). Really, just a mess of a repackaging because it feels like the code was ported by people who couldn't be bothered to check their own work, even for the most obvious of glitches. ... show more

I bought this game bc i saw some of my favorite youtubers playing it and boy i don't regret it! it made our usual get togethers more fun and competitive. i highly recommend it.
