The Celebrity Standard Plus series is your first step into the world of Ovation, with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, features and value. The Celebrity Standard CS28P-RG guitar has the classic Super Shallow bowl Lyrachord cutaway body with a striking Figured Koa top featuring quarter sawn scalloped “X” bracing. We reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively to arrive at this remarkable new design, which borrows from the past and is voiced for the present with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, the body and top create the classic Ovation sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity. The Quilted Maple top also has an elegant abalone rosette, ivory white binding and beautiful Natural gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable neck with a natural satin finish and rosewood-veneer headstock, 20-fret bound rosewood fretboard with abalone microdot inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CS28P-RG features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light. The center-cut soundhole offsets the shallower body by giving back loud resonance and projection thanks to the scalloped-X bracing support. For live performance, the Celebrity Standard includes an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with a three-band EQ and onboard tuner. Nice ovation! First thing I did was adjust the truss rod for an almost flat neck (truss rod easily adjusted). Removed the bridge shim to lower the action to 3/32" at 12th fret. Cut the nut at each string (although, it was already cut from the factory almost perfect). Replaced the strings with silk & steel (my favorite for finger picking). Removed that crappy looking white paper on the inside of the bowl and placed an "ovation like" rosette around the opening.....and wa-la !, looks and plays great!...btw: with the silk & steel strings and proper use of a 10 band eq pedal, it will rival my mahogany acoustic in sound, but the ovation wins for playability and classy looks. ... show more

Amazing tone and playability . Light weight and easy to set up . Hard to beat the quality of an Ovation and I own other high end brands like Takamine . I will say however do your research on what best fits your play style . I got this shallow body one specifically to teach the kids and it's light weight portability . The electronics on it were actually better than what I expected , a nice light crisp sound . Very pleased and am planning on getting another Ovation soon . ... show more

I ordered a guitar I just wanted to work, the electrical system was defective. The shipper took 130$ off the refund because the original box was not returned.they did not care that the guitar was useless, obviously a scam they frequently utilize on their customers.
