First experience with a roll-up mattress, I was skeptical about whether they would really be a firm mattress. Totally satisfied. Gave it the recommended 3 days to fully unspring and it was a great, firm comfortable mattress to sleep on. Given how much easier it was to shop and get in the bedroom than a store-bought mattress, this is the way I'm going for future purposes, too. Just one caveat: when you're sitting on the side of the bed to step in and step out, it does sag a lot more than a non-compression inner spring. Not sure why that doesn't happen when you're prone, but it doesn't. Nice that it was Made in USA, too, and competitively priced with the imported alternatives. Since this was purchased for the guest room, I can only base my comments on how the first guests felt about the bed. I agree with some reviews; that the sides slope and have little support. Sitting on the sides of the bed to dress or put on shoes is when you would notice this the most. Guests thought that the bed over-all, had nice support, and was great to sleep on. As far as reviews that complain the mattress doesn't have a long wear-life; I assume that ours will be fine for some time, due to being a guest use only bed. This was the perfect amount of firmness. The cloth handles on the side of the mattress to carry it were not sewn on strongly - so warning to be careful and not carry from the handles or the seam will rip. Other than that, it's a GREAT mattress so far.

I bought this mattress a few months ago. I searched Amazon for a couple of days hoping to find a firm mattress replacement for the last one I bought that had sunken in and was causing back pain. This new one was supposedly the firmest available for a reasonable price and had almost universally solid reviews. Besides the firmness, I liked how it didn't require that you wait days to use it and that in had reinforced side edges which you could sit on and not roll off of. The mattress was just the right thickness too- which I can use my fitted sheets over. The mattress I received is only firm (quite hard, can hardly tell it is memory foam ) in the middle and the sides sink easily which is a problem for me as I have a small room and use it for seating. Thankfully I was able to get a full refund along with the purchased warranty and was even able to keep the mattress until I can find a suitable replacement. ... show more
