I've always trusted OtterBox for their durable and protective phone cases, and in that regard, the Defender Series XT for my iPhone 16 Pro Max doesn't disappoint. It feels incredibly sturdy and provides a sense of security that my phone is well-protected. However, I was extremely let down by the quality of the marble paint finish. Within just one month of use, the design started to peel and chip away. To put this into perspective, I barely used my phone for two weeks out of that month. This is unacceptable for a product that prides itself on durability and longevity. Previously, I owned an older OtterBox case with a simple, unpainted plastic finish, and it held up incredibly well. Receiving this Defender Series XT with its peeling paint felt like a downgrade. Unfortunately, returning the product is not an option for me as I live in a different country. This experience has left a sour taste, and I can confidently say that I won't be purchasing another OtterBox case with a painted finish, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
