I have dropped my phone face down on concrete several times and my screen has held up. I do have a fine chip in my screen, but it could be from anything. If I had a screen protector I am sure I wouldn't have it. But this definitely stops your screen from shattering or anything else jiggling around and messing up. I remember dropping it in a store and you could hear an audible gasp from the other customers. Someone asked me if my phone was ok. I help up my pristine screen and everyone was shocked.
