This is the best iPad case I’ve ever owned. As a musician, I need something that protects my iPad but doesn’t obscure the screen when I’m reading sheet music. This is perfect! I also love that it’s magnetic, so when I leave my iPad on a music stand, it doesn’t fall if someone bumps the stand. The magnets are strong enough to hold it even if the stand falls or moves. I've trusted OtterBox Defenders to protect both my iPhones and my iPad Pro's for 8 years now. So far, dropping either when protected with my Defenders, has resulted in no damage to my iPhones or my iPad Pro's. So, OtterBox Defenders do the job I buy them to do. However, the last iPad Pro 13 (M4) Defender I bought several weeks ago on Amazon to protect my new iPad Pro was very difficult to use. It’s got a little kickstand that comes out to hold it up, but it didn't very work well, resulting in my raging frustration over and over trying to make that little kickstand either deploy or retract. This is a poor design. Finally, I took a fall where my iPad Pro crashed to the ground protected by the Defender. My iPad Pro survived but, the Defender did not, and that is to be expected. However, in this case, good riddance. I’ve ordered two more Defenders to replace it. Hopefully I’ll have better luck. UPDATE: The two replacement Defenders I just received do not suffer from the defects of my first one. Tada! Thank you, Otterbox! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have purchased countless Otterbox for my phones and iPads because I absolutely believe that they are worth every penny. Many years ago, I dropped my iPhone 6S plus from the loft to the first floor living room, I thought for sure I am in the market for a new phone but other than the case was dented my phone was well protected. I am speechless with this 13 inch iPad pro case. At first, it would not stand, then, it got stuck and can not be retracted. What a nightmare! I was thinking this case can’t be the real Otterbox, but after reading many reviews with the same problems. It certainly points to a bad design. ... show more

LOVE these cases from Otterbox- Defender Series in particular Have these on each of my devices. Never broke, chipped, or damaged a device while in one. Value- a bit overpriced, but worth it to protect and extend your device’s lifetime. (had them on 4 devices that I can think of over a period of about 6 years) Pen Holder- haven’t personally used this feature yet Feel- nice, leathery feel. Doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy! Design: a bit bulky at first, but it’s a small price to pay for its protection and you get used to it. ... show more

A good cover, but it sure is hard to re-close it after folding the cover back. It's a strong magnet, and there's nothing to pry it lose from the back. Otherwise it's great.

With respect to others who had bad experiences with this case, mine was outstanding! As a Machinist the craftmanship and attention to detail is remarkable! Wow to make something of this size with all the precision is amazing, especially with the properties of plastic and rubber! Of course the protective qualities require strength and recoil absorbing characteristics. Which adds size and weight. I was amazed how light the IPad is and yet it wasn’t easy to maintain control of. So this case is why I’ve always used Defender cases on my iPhones! And if there is a problem, they have the best warranty! No worries Mate! An update! If you are somewhere safe (sofa, etc.) where it’s not likely to drop your iPad, you can easily take the heavy back with stand off and reapply just as quickly! Brilliant! An update, I just found out the case (with stand) can be attached on the front or back side to cover the screen or to hold it up! Amazing folks! ... show more
