This case is a big upgrade from my old one. My previous case was really smooth and slippery, and I was always worried about dropping it. This one feels much more solid and “beefy,” and I definitely trust it more to protect my phone. One feature that’s both a pro and a con is the charging port cover. You have to open and close it each time, which my old case didn’t have, but I can see how it will be much better for keeping out water and debris. The only downside is that it’s not as smooth, so it doesn’t slide into my running belt or pocket as easily. That said, it also means it won’t slip out easily either, which is actually a plus. In recent years, I’ve moved away from the OtterBox phone cases for my iPhone. I never questioned the quality of design, materials used and the world renowned protection that the OtterBox provides, I had some issues with its aesthetics. The iPhone is recognized throughout the world for its beautifully sleek (and subsequently slippery) lines and design. It pained me to have to entomb my iPhone with a protective case whenever I purchased a new iPhone. After all, what’s the point of having such a stunningly gorgeous and seductive phone when it’s gotta be encapsulated in a less-than-stunning case? When I was looking for phone cases, I stumbled upon the Rock Skip Way (Blue) case by Otterbox COMMUTER SERIES and was pleasantly surprised by the thinner design, along with its rubberized grippers on the lower portion of either side of the phone. I found myself being seduced (there’s that word again) by this case so I decided to give in to my impulses and give Otterbox another chance and clicked the “buy now” tab. I just received the Otterbox, and, I have to say, I’m very happy with its over all aesthetic. It looks sleek and elegant, just like the iPhone it’s protecting. Of course, the quality is very high and it’s protection is great, considering it has two layers, with a soft inner slipcover and hard outer shell to absorb the impact of falls. I like that you can switch around the colors because this is made up of a hard plastic piece that clips over a rubber type piece. I have a few of these cases that I will switch around the pieces so I can have different colors. The rubber piece does have some give on the side but it hasn’t effected the protection. I’ve dropped my phone multiple times without issue. I’ve used the commuter series cases for years now. The only issue I have had is the rubber part of the case will eventually get dirty and discolor. Also the charging port cover often rips and falls off. The hard plastic pieces seem to last forever and are easily cleaned. I switch around my case colors every few weeks so I may wear the rubber part of the case faster than someone who leaves it on. I would suggest taking the case off at least monthly to clean the phone. Dirt doesn’t get stuck around the edges. I can say I have never had a phone break in this series of otterbox cases. I do add popsockets onto my cases as it’s easier to hold with the 12 pro max and 13 pro max. I’m currently using this case for the IPhone 13 pro max although it will fit the 12 pro max. ... show more

I went to Apple to replace my phone case but they had NONE in stock for my year old phone. The salesperson suggested I get one on line for half the price That is exactly what I did. This is very sturdy and attractive. My only objection is the piece of rubber which covers the place to plug in the charger. The remedy is to just remove it. ... show more
