I needed to have more access to stuff while backpacking on extended trips. This is a really perfect for that. I have a 15+ hour day of non-stop hiking and need a lot of calories readily accessible to fuel.. I can fit 10 Gels, 6 Cliff bars, 4 Drip Drop ORS, salt tabs, and candy in just the back zipper part of the pouch. That is 2500+ calories at my fingertips to compliment my waist belt pouches and shoulder strap pouches. In the front zipper I have 9 AAA batteries for headlamps, jolly ranchers to help conserve water, and a head net. That is a lot of extra room for very little cost. The pouch rides well when loaded.     • Excellent ultra light yet durable pack

It is very similar in quality materials and construction to my Matador Hip Pack (which cost a little more). This one from Osprey is a little larger though but still weighs next to nothing, packs into itself in the size of about a cup, and has a little more capacity. I also much prefer the darker burnt orange color here and the much better zipper pulls. The stitching is also a little better in the stress areas and there is a little bit of padding on the backside so it carries my iphone, keys, wallet and a couple other little things more comfortably, too. A+ product, shipping and price. Love it! Osprey's guarantee for life if it ever fails doesn't hurt either! ... show more

I read many reviews of similar products before choosing this pack. The size, functionality and comfort are perfect for my needs. In my pack, I typically place: A Samsung Note 10 (pretty large) A headband Keys 2 Luna bars small sun screen Lip balm Whistle pepper spray tissue pack It all fits and easily organized within the three pockets: 1 large, 1 small and 1 small zippered one within the large pocket. Bought this to use for a week long amusement park trip. It packs into it's own front pocket and takes up barely any room, but when opened up has plenty of space for daily essentials. I used it to carry wallet, keys, battery pack and charging cord, emergency rain poncho, and a couple man wipes. I love Osprey products and this is really nice also. I ordered a 1L size but on the main cardboard packaging it says 2L and on the back there is a sticker that says 1L. I'm very confused especially since I really do want a small size. If need be I wiil keep this one since it is a wonderful product. If this a mistake and I can get a smaller size I would love it. ... show more

I packed this 'just in case' on a recent trip. The material is thin and lightweight making it very compressible and packable. Since it is thin, I was a little concerned about strength but it held my small wallet, phone and keys with no problem. It's also lightweight to wear, which is a plus! The 'negative' for this is that since it is very lightweight, it is also not structured meaning that whatever you pack tends to just hang. I liked it. It's kind of a weird material, but I guess I sort of expected that. It's super light and the way it packs into itself speaks to a backpack camper like me. I brought it to Greece instead of a money belt and I liked it for that. It tucked under my shirt halfway decent. With the way it gets so small and is self contained, I'll consider taking it on a backpacking trip. Not sure it holds enough to be that useful though. So that's a big maybe. ... show more

Love the pack. It’s lightweight and fits well around the waist or crossbody. I haven’t had any issues with the strap as some others have mentioned and actually find it easy to adjust and fairly comfortable. The only knock I have is the color I got which was supposed to be gray. The picture looks sort of like a greenish-gray but thought it might just be the visual making it look like that.
