This ended up being larger than I'd expected. Not a problem, just a larger (and more tiring) hole to dig. To drive this, I used a: Nobsound NS-03G Subwoofer Amplifier 100W Mini Sub Power Amp (Black) which cost about $25 from Amazon (needed to provide my own power supply - no biggie). This is connected to the Subwoofer output of a Sonos Connect Amp. Adding this made my garden sound much richer. So far so good. I am concerned about the other reviewer's mention of not being entirely waterproof. We'll see. ... show more

This thing sounds great! Based on the specs and the box that the speaker is mounted in, I knew it would be a good option. It surpassed my expectations! I have 4 AW6500 Definitive Technology speakers, which are some of the best you can get; they produce excellent bass, but this subwoofer really helps with the really deep notes. I looked everywhere for reviews before I made this purchase, and couldn’t find anything. I’m glad I went with my gut on this one. I couldn’t be happier with the product quality and cost. The media could not be loaded. Great sub! Hits well outside and in! The Sub is paired with a cheap mono amp and does a great job. I'm really impressed with the performance. It does gives my outdoor setup a full / deep sound.

So I found this gem, while trying to build a decent sound system for my outdoor patio. I was putting in hot tub and was not paying $1k plus, for an average sounding, built in system, that was offered by HotSprings. So I got a pair of Klipsch KHO-7’s and found that they lacked any real bottom end punch. So I wanted something that would enhance without overwhelming the sound, and this seemed to fit the ticket. After seeing the assembly in person, I realized I needed a fairly large hole to bury it. Once completed, I realized the dome looked like a large mushroom. So I painted it to make it just look like quirky yard art. All in all, I couldn’t be more pleased. While it’s not going to shake the ground like a home theater sub, it adds a lot of warmth and lower end, that’s missing from most outdoor speakers. I powered the sub with an amp found also on Amazon- Fosi Audio TP-02 subwoofer amplifier and the Klipsch were powered by a Fosi Audio TB10A 2 channel amplifier. Both receive a signal from an Esinkin Bluetooth audio adaptor. I think with all my cables, speaker wire (had lots of left overs from past projects), speakers, amps and subwoofer, I was maybe around $400, all in. Sound wise it’s fantastic and all pairs up with my iPhone easily. Pro tip- if you want your bass to sound great in a specific area, place the sub there and play music. Then crawl around on the ground, in areas where you can bury it, until you hear where it sounds best- bury it there. Sounds weird but I’ve set up a lot of home theaters this way, because every room/ space is unique. Hope that helps. ... show more
