I was cruising the internet for various massage equipment (just turned 70 and aches and pains are a daily irritating occurrence). I came across a NYTimes article in which the writer rated the 10 best massage chairs for under $3,000. Thinking this was not some shill paid to provide a favorable review, I read the article. It was extensive and rated various chairs with the Osaki chair rated number 1. The price was right and the review was very favorable so I ordered the chair. It arrived on a palette. I bribed two other elderly buddies to help me move the chair from the outside porch to my inside living room (the bribe consisted of 2 glasses of good read wine). We three old timers were able to get the chair in the house without too much effort. Once in the house, all I had to do was plug in the machine and turn it on. With a little manual reading and experimentation, I was able to figure out the chair and which settings were ideally suited for my wife and I. We have used the chair most days since its arrival. We have found that certain settings aren't for us, i.e., leg compression doesn't work for my wife's varicose veins, and which settings are ideal for us, i.e., the entire back setting while reclining and heat turned on is the ticket. Summarizing, the chair fits our needs, it didn't cost an arm and a leg, and we are quite satisfied. ... show more

The chair is nice. The massage is a little intense. You can adjust the pressure a little but it's still pretty hard. But, overall it's a good massage chair.

I truly enjoy regular massage therapy, but this chair is great for maintenance in-between. This isn't something that just vibrates, it digs in and you can control the tempo. A fine purchase, I'd say!

    • SO-SO foot massager PAINFUL
The manual control partially works--it has a mind of its own and just does whatever it wants?? Fortunately, the "foot massager" can be turned OFF(after pressing the button 4 times, and NOT once as the directions state). The "WIDTH" control doesn't work?? and UP & DOWN button occasionally work?? For $2200, one would expect better(was reviewed via NY Times---won't make that mistake again) ... show more

    • Love this massage chair!
Very well made, kinda heavy 180 lbs. The different massage modes are wonderful. The two tone brown and black goes with about any decor. Almost no assembly. The blue tooth speakers are great. I wish the whole remote was lighted. Very happy!

I didn't like the way the leg length adjustment is loaded which takes your thighs off the massagers. The foot massagers were too aggressive. The shoulder air bags useless because they didn't make contact with your shoulders.

    • Chair not built for people over 5'6. Many functions do not adjust as supposed to.
The neck and back massage are good but it squeezes the life out of your calf and hands?? The modes on some the foot massage is painful? And squeezes your foot so hard you have to pause it.
