Using this grip case makes a nice improvement to playing in handheld mode. It fits great on my Nintendo Switch, has a nice texture, and perfect size to fit comfortably in your hands. I only wish I had purchased this product 7 years ago.

Bought this years ago and still going strong. Playing the Switch in handheld mode cramps my hands and I simply cannot do it for more than 30 minutes. But zero issues when using this case. Easy on, easy off too. You do have to remove it to dock but it only takes like 3 seconds.

I'm a little late to the Nintendo Switch, having just bought the console in March of 2018. Within the first week of having the Switch, I played 20-30 hours of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in handheld mode alone, and while the Switch itself is great, I noticed my hands would hurt after prolonged play. Unfortunately the Switch's handheld capabilities didn't include ergonomic hand grips, so I looked into cases here on Amazon. The Orzly brand had the best reviews, and I can see why. I bought the solid black color because I have the gray joy-cons, and the black matte was most appealing. Overall, the case fits well, provides the comfort I want, the price is cheap (but the case doesn't appear so), and the TPU feels nice, like a balanced mix between a hard plastic and a flexible silicone. It's also a breeze to take off and put on, and the grips make playing the Switch in handheld mode much more enjoyable. The reason I gave the case four stars instead of five is because of one thing: While the case doesn't block any vents, ports, etc, it does make the L and R buttons a tad bit difficiult to press. While my fingers are resting on those buttons (especially the L button), they're actually touching the case too (tried to show this in my photos). Playing Breath of the Wild, these buttons are regularly used, but it ends up being more of a nuisance than a hindrance, which is alright.

I have had good success protecting phones and tablets with TPU cases, so why not the Switch I thought. This is a pretty simple TPU material case, but the execution is good. Cutouts and fit were perfect, and nothing is blocked. There's ergonomic grips added, but they're not very big, so that the case can still work with many travel bags. The grips do still help comfort a bit, but less so than big grips would. They're a bit of a compromise. Even still, I like having something to curl my fingers around, and consider the case an improvement over the naked Switch's comfort. My only minor gripe is that the power button is a little harder for me to get to, due to my fingers being a little too fat to get into the little cut out area easily. Its not blocked, just a little harder to get to with my man hands. This is a non issue though, since you can turn the Switch on by holding the Home button as well. I got one of each case, because my family has 2 Switch. The outside of the black case has a little texture to it, so it feels kind of like a PS4 controller. The TPU is a bit stiffer than some I've had for some phone cases. It fits snug and feels sturdy. The transparent case is a little more flexible, and reminds me of what I'm using on my phone. The TPU is smooth but not slippery to my hands. This is my second Orzly Switch product that was basically spot on. The other being their tempered glass screen protector, which is currently on my Switch with the black grip case. TLDR: This isn't a complicated product here. It's just a TPU case. Orzly didn't mess it up with any silly mistakes.

Pros: Light and compact. Much more comfortable for larger hands that the joycons. Doesn't add too much bulk to the console when you're traveling. Cons: kind of a pain to take off and on. Not too bad, though. For the price: definitely worth it. It isn't perfect, but it is inexpensive and feels like it will hold up to going on and coming off a couple times a week.

The added palm grip is soft and ergonomic, really improves over the basic design. Still not as good as a real controllers full grips but the best alternative I could find. The case is soft rubber but has already protected my Switch from several falls and gives way more confidence in playing handheld. Probably the best part is that this is slim enough that my switch still fits in my hard breath of the wild standard case, as well as having openings for all ports and fans so there is zero reduced functionality unlike some other cases. Only thing is you'll have to remove the case to put the system on the dock.

Fits nice and snug around the switch, but the cutouts don't line up with the volume buttons and cartridge socket. It slightly overlaps the up volume button and randomly causes it to go max volume. Which is really uncomfortable when you have earbuds. I have the OLED version.
