I bought this one specifically to laser marking on special order photographs on wood. This laser does good detail work for that, so it suits my needs. However, I did some other types of testing, and like other cheap Chinese lasers, it's not very sturdy. If you're running it in a straight line, such as when you're forming borders, you MIGHT be able to get 20,000 mm/min and still be able to tell what you were trying to engrave. I've run mine at 16,0000 mm/min for a straight line fill, and it details ok. If you try that on anything with curves, the machine will chatter all over the place and usually stall the motor. The application listed to run this laser is no longer available on the Google Store, so you can forget using that. There are no direct fit aftermarket controllers for this laser, so you have to leave your laptop connected for it to run. It has an SD card slot and an SD card to USB adapter to load a program. However, without a controller or application, that's pretty much useless. If you're a hobbyist and looking for a first machine, this might be a decent one if you can get one on sale. It functions, and it does a decent job. Had I paid more than $300 for it, it would be going back, but I can make that back in just a few sales. Would I buy another one? Not likely. It's a throw-away model. Make your money back plus 2-3x that, and buy you a decent one. Run this one until it fails, and throw it away. Don't invest anything extra in it because the rigidity just isn't there.

I can't do an accurate review as I've done everything I know to do to get this thing to connect to internet and it won't!! I'd like to send it back but I'll have to get with company I'm sure as it's been more than a month I've been working with this thing! No success. Very poor set up instructions. Found a Utube that helped with that but nothing has worked to connect internet so it's useless.

I started using this engraver for customizing gifts and personal items. The laser is precise and the machine runs smoothly. The machine handles different wood types very well, and experimenting with settings has been a lot of fun. Great value overall.

What I like most about this machine is its wireless connectivity, which makes my creative process more flexible. I can design simple carving tasks directly on my phone and transfer the designs to the device to start carving, making it very convenient for daily use.

This unit is an upgrade of my older Ortur laser. It’s much quieter and faster than the older unit. I like the more robust frame, which seems to make it more stable and run smoother. I have barely started to learn the other differences to my old one, but I’m looking forward to trying some leather and paper projects.
