Bought this for one project and ended up using it on sooooo many more! I used the Light burn software and it is amazing! watched a few videos on YouTube and I was burning and engraving on many different surfaces within an hour of setting it up. The assembly was very easy and only took about 20 minutes. There is a lot of videos online on any troubleshooting on the assembly, software, or issues. The only thing that I would change would be cord management on the x axis. even then it is not that big of a problem.

The Ortur Laser master 2 was awesome at first. After 2 days of use (total of 4-5 hours) I decided to engrave a logo on a 12” x 12” piece of Maple. Half way through the fan on the laser stopped working and then the safety feature / alarm went off. Turned off the machine, reset the machine, everything plugged in correctly fan still will not work. I will be reaching out and getting my money back or a replacement laser. ***Update*** I did receive a new diode laser. Machine worked for another few months and now the machine won’t do anything. The laser won’t move, won’t engrave. Won’t do anything. I double checked all connections, machine is using a outlet by itself, no codes. Just flat out stops working. I bought this machine in February of 2022, diode laser stopped working 3 months later (roughly May/June), now it’s May 01,2023 and the machine won’t do anything. Machine only comes with a 1 year warranty. Be aware. Max lifespan on the machine is 1 year max. Not worth the money. Do yourself a favor and do research on other machines. Wish I would have. You live and learn. Ortur laser engraving machines are mot worth it. I’m very upset. And now I’m out nearly $500.00 on a machine that’s only had issues since the beginning.

Update: After getting the screws I needed and getting my laser and rotary set up I am pleased with how it is working so far. I have a lot to learn. I can't completely review this product because I need 4 main screws to put it together. It is missing the M5x25mm screws. I have gone through the box and each little baggie several times and they are not there. Disappointing. Now I have to wait that much longer. Debating on sending back and going with a different brand.

I’m usually the one in my circle to splurge on something. I bought a small laser that I could use with my cell phone and once somebody saw what I was doing they had to have one but had no credit so they bought mine and I bought a bigger one which was the Ortur. And, someone had to have THAT one. I bought the Ortur Laser Master 2 pro and this one, I’m keeping. It’s so fast i’ve had to back the power off from what I was normally using. This one is really cool and I showed my ex girlfriend this and she not only asked me to customize a cutting board, once I showed her how it works she’s buying one (I have to assemble it) so this one is a game changer. Bravo.

I am having a lot of trouble getting it to burn through some 3mm plywood I purchased. It engraves images pretty well, but forget about cutting plywood. The very few samples you get with your purchase cut great, but they don’t let you know what type of wood you have. How much money do I need to spend to find 3mm plywood that it can cut through flawlessly? The flame sensor is a joke, easily gets set off from bright light exposure, ruining a project you were working on for hours. The set screw for the z-axis is trash. I saw videos where people received 2 screws, one for each side. I only received one screw, so I decided to upgrade the z-axis with the King Gubby Designs z-axis adjuster. The glasses that come with this machine aren’t even the proper shade to protect you from the blue light, they glasses should be the same color as the orange protective shield around the laser head. The instructions are horrible, watch a video on YouTube to make assembly easier. The best thing about this laser is the community support from other users and the Lightburn software that make it pretty fun to use. Again, my only success with this laser is engraving images into wood, metal, canvas, granite, and even glass with help from some very expensive cans of dry lubricant (videos available on YouTube). I honestly say this is a good laser to get started, but you’ll outgrow it fast, so just spring for the X-tool D1, all the upgrades will lead you to paying the same for this as you would for the x-tool anyway.

Ortur makes a great laser. I bought an inexpensive one to get my toes wet with the technology and quickly hit all of its limitations. I was impressed enough with creating, I bought the Ortur... I also purchased the adjusment piece for the laserhead (a must have) and one of the honeycomb beds (it really does make a difference). I could not be happier with all of it. If something happens with this one, I will definately come back to Ortur!
