For some reason "Cracker Jack" prize came to mind when I opened the box. It's a little plastic "teeter-totter" with increments printed on it. It does function and better than no scale.

Whether you're dusting off an old turntable or exploring vinyl for the first time, this is a must. To get the best sound without wearing out albums, the tracking force on a stylus/cartridge must be correct. Consult cartridge manufacturer suggested weight, adjust tonearm weight and use the Ortofon to achieve the perfect balance. Basic but very effective.
