We got this for my 4 yr old for Christmas so he had something to doodle on that was easy. Its fun to play with but most times the erase button does not work. I thought I was doing it wrong so of course I read the instructions. And unfortunately nope, the button just does not errase all the time. It takes 4/5 times of pushing it and clicking the lock/unlock buttom to try and get it to engage. And dont expect to be able to do some fine detailed doodling as the tip does larger lines. But it is a fun little toy to play with and easy to bring on the road or to the store. My son does have a hard time getting the pen out and putting it back in as its a tight secure fit. But for the price I can't complain. I doodled a few things that he and my niece had asked for to show how it works. ... show more

Edit: Increasing from 3 to 4 stars. The company very kindly reached out to see if I was happy with this drawing pad and immediately offered a replacement. Could instantly tell that the new one had a newer battery and didn't need to change it right away, also seems to be a newer version as this one came with a little booklet with FAQs and drawing suggestions. It's actually growing on us too, my son, husband, and I have been enjoying doodling. New one isn't drastically different as far as brightness or durability but I'm less concerned about the battery popping out since we didn't lose the screw this time. Suggestion to the company would be to attach the stylus to the pad with a string, but otherwise this is a nice product. Original review: Not nearly as bright as it appears on the photo. Would not erase at first, regardless of the switch in lock/unlock position and no replacement battery included in package. I happened to have a new battery and screwdriver small enough for the VERY TINY screw and replaced the battery... But lost the screw in those few seconds it took to replace it. Battery cover isn't secure without it and I for sure won't be leaving my toddler to play with it unattended. It does erase now with the new battery but is no brighter. My son is enjoying it, though it's extremely lightweight and flimsy so I don't expect it to remain unbroken for terribly long. I'm glad I decided to just give it to him now because I'd consider it kinda disappointing as a Christmas gift. ... show more
