Description
On a mission to encourage her daughter's self-love journey, Melissa Orijin founded Orijin Bees to create dolls of color with diverse skin tones, curly hair patters and hair colors to normalize inclusivity in the toy aisle. O.R.I.J.I.N. B.E.E.S. is the acronym for Our Representation Is Just Inclusion Normalized, Beautifully Empowering Every Soul. Preparing our girls to be comfortable at the top!! Inclusive Representation Self-Love Our daughter's confidence dropped as soon as she was in an environment that lacked diversity. Her preference in dolls went from dolls of color to Caucasian dolls. She began to define beauty by what she was seeing everyday. Very quickly, she didn't find her skin tone or curly hair beautiful. This broke my heart. While shopping, I found it nearly impossible to find dolls that were as diverse as black and brown girls are - from the tone of their skin to the different curl pattern hair. From there, Orijin Bees was born...products that are representative of our black and brown community. Orijin Bees stands for Our Representation Is Just Inclusion Normalized. Beautifully Empowering Every Soul. Our products are truly representative of black and brown girls. With a variety of skin tones and curly hair textures, we are able to provide representation and encourage self love through pretend play. Our customer feedback and impact! From our reviews, to emails and calls, our customers are the best part of Orijin Bees. Hearing how our products are having a positive impact on children is what we are here for. Orijin Bees is here to normalize inclusion! Our Baby Bee Dolls are available in a variety of skin tones and curly hair textures. They were created to be a diverse in beauty as the girls in our black and brown community. Hair can get wet and maintain its curl form!
