  • Great little product
I cut and drill 1" X 1" stainless steel bar and have been using Tap Magic EP-EXTRA as a coolant (another great product, by the way!). I used a 12 volt pump I had to create a flood system for my band saw, but it would have been too much for my drill press. After reading all of the positive, helpful reviews this sounded like the right thing. I had an air regulator and gauge from an old compressor and hooked it up in line with this unit and it works great. It allows me not only fine tune the amount of pressure going in, but I can cut off the air flow easily, also. It comes with the syphon hose for the fluid, but not the air hose. You can get the 5/16" tubing at Lowes, but their compression fittings for that size are limited. Because of this, to connect to my regulator I had to start with 1/4" tubing and transition up to 5/16". You can probably find the correct fittings on line, but I kind of like the challenge of figuring out a solution with what you are given. How does it work? Great! Because of the misting, it's hard to gauge exactly how much coolant is actually going down the hole. so periodically i will back off the press and let it lubricate the tip of the bit. The nozzle was getting smacked by the strands coming out of the hole, so I reinforced it as you can see. No magnet? No problem... for me, anyway. Mine will stay in place indefinitely. Excellent product that I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Product works as described, I prefer a stream of liquid rather than a mist/spray, so I modified it
The media could not be loaded. This product works as described (mist/spray using an air compressor), so 5 stars. Also great value. However, I want to cut aluminum on my CNC and prefer to apply a stream of liquid rather than a mist/spray, so that it shoots a sufficient volume and pressure of liquid to clear the chips in addition to providing cooling. So, I kept the housing of this OriGlam product, and swapped out the hose with this product: Loc-Line 40413 Coolant Hose Assembly Kit, Acetal Copolymer, 7 Piece, 1/4" Coolant Hose ID https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006R9O3HE?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Instead of an air compressor, I'm now using a $10 aquarium pump (up to 80 GPH gallons per hour), to pump water directly into the housing, which squirts a nice solid jet of water. The reason I kept the housing of this OriGlamp product is that it has nice mounting holes, which I will eventually use to mount onto my CNC machine's Z axis so the jet stream can follow along wherever the spindle goes. (In the video, I merely depict squirting the water at an aluminum rod from a fixed mounting point). Keep in mind the jet stream of liquid is messier than the mist/spray, although both can be messy... so I'm working on ways to collect the liquid so it doesn't splatter all over the CNC bed and possibly reach electronics. ... show more

  • Works fine for my CNC 3040T Router Mist Cooling with low pressure air, with mods.
Saw this type unit recommended by many using both ~20psi and ~3psi air, with and without misting. I wanted to use 3psi with misting, so I followed the example of others and drilled out the end port, while keeping the inner suction port, but I also drilled out the three smaller holes in it to hopefully improve draw at the lower psi. This did improve the flow, but the air flow was too low for any real cooling at 3psi. I removed the air inlet fitting and found it very restrictive, so I replaced it with a non-restrictive push-on fitting (see image 2). That greatly improved the airflow, however, there was still as much dribble as mist, so I routed the air pressure to the lubrication canister, and arrived at a very usable Mist Cooler with more mist than dribble. Yes, I did a lot of mods to the original mister, but I can now use a fairly quiet air pump, and would buy this again if I needed to, as it served as a very good starting mechanism. ... show more

  • Blows air BUT won't stay in place
When trying to adjust nozzle to blow in a specific place, the articulation has no rigidity, just swings around all willy nilly. Makes it useless for a CNC router. Will have to find something higher quality.

  • they should of made it 1/4"
I'm really liking this unit so much I'm getting one for my lathe. I've been custom milling chrome vanadium sockets on my Bridgeport with a 5/16" Tin. coated four flute solid carbide mill. Before I was just using a hand sprayer bottle and wasting coolant like no tomorrow! I got a little regulator from HF for $20 and set it to 20 psi as someone else suggested (Thank you) and it sucks up the coolant about three feet to the block. Coming off the block I immediately changed it to 1/4" (coupling) and put a shut off valve for the air. I wish the blue flex pipe was a couple of links longer too, mine just reaches the mill. It has really reduced my coolant use and my cutter is much happier too! ... show more

  • Good for the money
Not the highest quality like KoolMist but not bad and definitely usable on a budget. I'm using mine on a surface grinder and this mister makes all the difference in the surface finish. The coolant and airflow are adjustable but there is definitely a sweet spot where it works the best. Outside of this narrow window, you either get a very spattery dribble of coolant or too much air and virtually no coolant. ... show more

  • Add mist coolant to your hobby CNC on the cheap
The media could not be loaded. So far so good! I don't use the mist as much as I thought I would as it does get a little messy and swells up my mdf spoilboard. Being able to easily adjust, turn on/off the lubricant flow I can just use air for chip clearing and turn on the lubricant once in a while during cuts. Even with just using compressed air alone when cutting aluminium or acrylic it's a big help. I learned that having a VFD spindle and rigid machine isn't enough to reliably cut aluminum, gotta have that lube! The air and lubricant tubing that came with this kit was way too short for my 1000x1000 workbee but at this price I really can't complain! Would be nice to be able to select an option for longer tubing for an additional fee though as to reduce waste ... show more
