i love it! thought i'd get bored fast but i genuinely like looking after it. i dont know why everyone says it beeps every 10 minutes because it doesnt if you take good care of it, in fact, mine has barely beeped. maybe once per hour / every few hours but barely. literally just take good care of it and discipline it and it should barely beep. (except it'll beep a lot during the baby stage but it goes away after an after when it evolves into a child). also it looks adorable on car keys and i love bringing it with me everywhere. idc what anyone says, i recommend. its only been a few days but im still having fun with it. only thing is that i recommend switching out the batteries as soon as you get it because it ran out in about a week so i had to reset my tama and had to start over :(

Having had one of these back in 1997, I can safely say everything is as expected and good! I've seen bad reviews about the tama going off every 5 seconds, but that's just the baby stage and it only lasts about an hour. I have heard complaints about it being loud, and those are accurate. I don't remember it being that loud in 97, but when you're a kid, loud noises don't bother you as much. The sounds on these are loud enough to interrupt conversation. I even saw a complaint implying someone had received a defective one because there was no backlight and had a good "elder millenial" laugh at that. Most of my complaints revolve around comparisons with the Tamagotchi Connection, which I bought in 2004 and kept and rebooted recently. The icons on the Original re-release are in a weird order, the gage is not organized nearly as neatly on the screen, and most important of all the buttons on the Original are not nearly as responsive as the ones on the Connection. The buttons thing is probably my biggest complaint and besides that I think it's good!

6 year old begging for a pet, we already have 2 dogs and fish. Mom, not wanting to clean up after anything else, informs son, it will be his responsibility. Son argues that he has kept a plant alive for a year. Insert tamagachi. After 1 day with this toy, son reconsiders the idea of being responsible for a living creature. Thank you tamagachi 🙏🏽

But they’ll love it. Until they realize they have to tend to a stupid toy nonstop and they finally just let it die so they can play with something better. Nice thing is it can be played with and restarted at any time so it’s been something the kid loves. And even better, it has a silent mode so parents don’t have to go nuts listening to sounds.
