This was originally a gift to my pup from a good friend when I picked up my pup (she was 4 months old.) The first stuffy was my pups favorite bedtime buddy to have in her crate. She always brought him out with her in the morning. My pup loves the stuffy with the “heartbeat” for about 3-4 months and then she covered him with her crate mat. I took out the “heart” and she’s happily slept with her head resting on her buddy ever since. My pup has a double coat and is hot all the time so I never used the heating “pads”. I’m sure they are great too. My little puposaurus Rex usually chews up and pulls all stuffing out of any and all toys but, this toy lasted 2 years! Was the bedtime buddy missing his ears and tail for at least a year? Yes, but still a great snuggle buddy for another year. Sadly, this year the snuggle buddy suffered an unrecoverable loss of stuffing and fuzziness. 😞 Luckily I was able to order another buddy and the bedtime snuggles continue! I wish there was an option to just get the stuffy (I still have the original heart and warmers, didn’t need more) but that’s just a nit pick. This is a great product. The stuffing is the white fluffy kind, the pup is of solid construction and the “heartbeat” really does soothe puppies (I’ve used something similar with another pup - not as nice or fancy but, it works like a charm!) I recommend for new puppies spending nights alone without their siblings. All dogs that like to rest their heads on something soft when napping, and all puppies and dogs who are scared of loud noises. I put the snuggle buddy up and away from pupasaurus when she’s awake and playing to avoid catastrophic stuffing incidents. This is not a chew toy at all but it has stood up to some aggressive love and snuggling. If your pup has shown some restraint towards “special” toys, this is perfect for your pup! Not so much for dogs determined to lay waste to everything in site. My pup falls somewhere between. I recommend this for pups!

This was the only thing that helped my puppy sleep through the night! She came home at 8 weeks and barely slept—just 30-minute stretches the first night. We received this on day two, and she immediately slept a full 3 hours, which is perfectly normal for her age. Fast forward to 16 weeks: she’s now crate trained and sleeping over 8 hours straight. Not only does it help her sleep, it’s also her favorite toy. She carries it everywhere! I also want to highlight the durability—my puppy has some serious teeth, but she hasn’t managed to tear it apart. The quality is outstanding.

If you have a scared new puppy, get this doll. I described my experience before and after the doll and notes for first and continuing use at the end... My 8 week old yorkie baby was having panicked screaming fits at night. I would have just let her cry it out but it was genuine panic for 30 minutes at a time and I don't want her to develop other anxieties later. Night before last, I ended up on the couch next to her all night soothing her back to sleep every thirty minutes until daybreak. It was exhausting. Over the course of that night, I did some research on training puppies to self-soothe at night and came across this product. THANKFULLY Amazon had same-day delivery so, within 6 hours I had it. It came with batteries and one heating pad so it was totally ready to go upon opening. I set it in her bed and petted her while she was next to it. It took about 15 minutes for her to warm up to it. She first laid on the edge of the bed, then face-to-face with it, then next to it, then across it. She took all of her naps with it yesterday. I kept the TV going and made sure I was talking in the room so she knew I was still there. Last night I ended up on the couch next to her again but she only needed soothing every three hours this time and her fits weren't TOTAL panic, just a little fear, so I'm convinced that it helped. The pictures are of her today for her first nap of the day. She still wanted to know I was nearby, but I petted her until she was calm enough to snuggle up by her "friend" and zonk out. She's happily napping as I write this review. NOTES: - The heating pad is supposed to only last 24 hours but, about 30 hours later there's still a little warmth in it. - I wasn't certain that the heating pad was supposed to go in the same pocket as the heartbeat machine but it was the only pocket on the doll, so I put them both in there, heartbeat first and heat closest to the surface and it didn't affect the heartbeat. 30 hours later, the heartbeat's still going strong. - The heat really stays in the belly of the doll, so I laid it on it's side to make it easier for her to snuggle close to the warmth. - The branded heating pad refills are a little pricey and I don't think the doll will have quite the same impact without the warmth, so I ordered the TonGas (spelling?) brand heating pads instead. They function the same, they're cheaper, you get 15 instead of like 8 and they advertise to last longer. So it's win-win-win-win lol. I'll update if they fall short. ***update: the TonGas heating pads fell short. They only stayed warm for about 10 hours. It gets our puppy through the night but I wouldn't recommend them if you need them for 24+ hour periods Good luck to you and your new fur-baby!

It's very cute and soft. My puppy enjoys it and the heartbeat seems to comfort her at night. It has been helpful for crate training and sleeping overnight. I took off a star because the only heartbeat option that seems to work on the ine I received is the 8 hour version. I've tried to have it run continuously and I've tried to turn it off, but neither of those functions work.
