  • Great Printer - Not for the faint of heart
Arrived a day early and much easier purchase than going through the hassles of importing from Czech Republic. Everything post assembly was in working order and the printer is fulfilling its expectations. Please note that this is not a novice device nor is it an easy machine to comprehend - recommend for advanced 3D enthusiasts who are able to take things apart and are not afraid of troubleshooting. Overall satisfied for the modest couple of months since I got it. ... show more

  • Assembled, not quite, low quality, stay away!
Stay Away from Prusa Printers Prusa printers are inferior to almost every other 3D printer manufacturer today. The only reason I purchased one was because of its size (XL). However, this printer is deeply disappointing. Assembly Issues First and foremost, the product is misleading and untruthful in its presentation. While the printer body comes assembled, the extruder does not. In short, it’s not ready to print out of the box! You’ll need at least half a day to tinker with and install the “Nextruder” heads. The more extruder heads you have, the longer it will take—obviously. Their documentation is passable, but only if you’re technically inclined. Software Issues 1. Wi-Fi vs. Ethernet: • Make sure you purchase the Wi-Fi model. The Ethernet model cannot connect or register on their website. This is a serious flaw, and their software feels like it’s stuck in the 1990s (at best). 2. Crashing Problems: • The software is incredibly buggy. During calibration, the printer crashed with a blue screen (see attached picture). 3. Horrible User Interface: • The user interface is clunky and frustrating to use. ... show more

  • Looks are deceiving
I really want to love this printer but can't. The 5 tool heads are great for multimaterial printing when it works but sadly it's out of commission every few days. I ultimately returned mine because I was spending more time repairing the printer than using it. I own 8 other 3D printers, across 3 different brands. This is my most expensive 3D printer by 3x the cost of the next most expensive one, and less reliable than my $500 machine. To start it's not fully assembled, it's mostly assembled. You're going to have to do a few hours of doing the final assembly. One of my tool's thermristers was defective out of the box. It was a 2 week turn around time for Prusa to send me a replacement so I paid out of pocket to buy a replacement from Amazon so I could actually use the printer. After the part came in and I was able to proceed forward one of the filament sensors in the tools stopped working. After repairing that a separate tool would just decide that the filament was stuck when it wasn't. Then after my 1st successful 1d+ print it stopped passing mesh bed leveling at the beginning of a print. I spent 10+ hours on with Prusa support (which are amazing) debugging the issue. Eventually it started working again and was able to get another few prints before the mesh bed leveling issue returned. There are a variety of other minor issues that have occurred. Another fun thing is crash detection is disabled in the printer by default because it's a known to have a high false positive on the printer but sadly it also loves to ram into things and layer shift. You can't rehome the tool head during a print without this or if you can the documentation was too difficult to find out how. When crash detection is on it's not uncommon for it to "detect" a crash 1-2 times per layer, often during color change, and have to rehome. I've lost and had to restart over 10kg of prints due to layer shifts, but the crash detection adds a lot more time. Nearly 1/3rd of the filament consumed on the machine went to defects that were thrown out. The same exact model printed on my Bambu X1C goes fine without any layer shifts. Reorienting the model in PrusaSlicer causes layer shifts. Another issue is the carriage that holds the tools likes to drop the tool every now and then. Once every day or so. It makes an amazing sound when you can the thunk of the tool dropping and damaging your print bed or ruining a print because it got dropped on something and broke it. I went through the entire tool dock recalibration and retightened things and it still happens periodically. When the print works it's great. It's awesome how fast it can change tools and the massively reduced amount of wasted filament on color change. Unfortunately it prints so much slower than my Bambu X1C that all of the time savings over 1000+ filament changes is mostly negated by the print speeds. I actually wasted more filament due to the significantly increased failure rate causing me to lose a print midway through than the purges in the Bambu AMS and Creality CFS consume. This printer would have been unbeatable 5 years ago but it's a really expensive half baked toy in 2025. ... show more

  • The best consumer multi material printer.
The machine itself is awesome, but Amazon damaged it in shipping. I printed parts and fixed it myself. This is my second XL 5T, and it’s still the best multi color consumer printer on the market.

  • The product is great, but delivery not so much
The printer itself is great. The delivery, well that is another thing. Prusa ships a big bag of gummies bears with the printer, and they were everywhere. Looking in the box at the parts everything looked ok, until I had everything out. Then I noticed several plastic part were broken. Now these are able to be printed, you can find them on printables. Now I have to take about half of a day to print repair part for a brand new printer, luckily I have other printers. ... show more

  • Not what was advertised
After 3 months my opinion change. It’s worse. Just doesn’t work at all. I confess that I was expecting a fantastic 3D printer. But is a bad one. Not fast, not reliable, not easy. Only tremendous expensive. Don't buy it. Don't waist your time. and your money. Maybe the new products are better. Definitively Bambu Lab X1 is much better. ... show more

  • Best 3D Printer on Amazon...but doesn't come fully assembled as advertised
We bought three of these for our school. However, they do not come fully assembled as advertised. You must put them together about halfway, and then calibrate everything yourself. The advertisement at the time stated they were fully assembled and ready out of the box. Other than that, smooth, quick, and efficient printing. ... show more
