Ridiculously expensive, but prints great. As others have posted, I have been purchasing knockoffs for about 1/4 of the OEM price, but my printing was an embarrassment. I used to get 3 to 6 months out of the various cheaper toners before they started to streak. The last set was less than an month until problems started. Bit the bullet and bought a complete set of HP toners, which print great thus far and cost as much as the all in one. Hope they last!!!

Non HP toner cartridges made my printer make loud noises and color was not good. These HP toners are quiet, excellent color. No more off brands for me even though these are expensive. Saved money in the long run.

I tried several other knock-off brands which cost much less, but found all of them to produce horrible results. Leaks, smears, very poor quailty - my copies were an embarrassment. One even promised a lifetime warranty but the seller disappeared from Amazon two months later. Good luck collecting on that warranty! I finally decided that since I spent so much money to buy a high quality printer, I needed to bite the bullet and pay this outrageous price for the original HP toner. Now my copies are beautiful professional quality again and I am very happy with them. I hope the toner lasts forever, as the cost to replace them makes me shudder. But I am resolved to never buy the cheap knock-off toner again. It is just not worth it.

The cartridges were advertised on Amazon as "Original HP 201X Cyan, Magenta, Yellow High-yield Toner Cartridges (3-pack)". When I tried to replace them, my printer showed the "Incompatible cartridge" message. I then looked carefully at the packaging and found out the following disclaimer: "Intended for distribution within the appointed territory in Europe, Middle East, and Africa only. Unauthorized distribution may result in legal action." The return time window closed for me already, and it looks like I am stuck with these useless cartridges that cost me almost 300 dollars. Will try to negotiate with Amazon.

I bought this item expecting to receive a genuine HP product, indistinguishable from those I would obtain from HP itself. I ignored cheaper offerings, doubting whether these could be relied upon; the price I paid for this item was very similar to that charged by HP. And upon its arrival, I was encouraged. The packaging looked reassuring: all fussily factory-sealed stuff, covered with HP's print logo and characteristic product advertising graphics, and bearing elaborate anti-tampering seals. I should not have been so inattentive, however, as to allow these dramatic decorations to distract me from a very subtle indicator of the fraud that had been perpetrated on me: tiny, barely legible dates embossed on the bottom of each carton show that all the cartridges in this shipment had expired months before I purchased them. I simply did not notice this. And, misled and naively confident in my purchase, I permitted the 30-day return window to pass without inserting these cartridges into my printer. Now that I have, I find that none of them is capable of functioning properly. And it seems that I can return none of them. So I am now roughly $400 poorer, and far, far sadder than I ever expected I could possibly be as a result of this purchase. An HP-certified service rep has explained to me that this is absolutely typical of Amazon toner and ink resellers: none of them ever deals in original HP products that remain unexpired. If you want those, you simply must purchase them either from HP itself, or from HP's brick-and-mortar retailers (e.g., Office Depot, Staples, etc.) I have certainly learned my lesson. I will never again even attempt to purchase Original Manufacturer toner or ink from Amazon, or from any Amazon-based vendor. It is not possible, and only loss and disappointment can come from imagining otherwise. Nor is this really surprising: the business models of all the Original Manufacturers in this industry depend critically on allowing no alternatives to their preferred distribution channels. They simply cannot afford to allow Amazon to circumvent them, and they do not.

I tried to get off brand ink to save some money and it was just a bad decision. The ink was horrible and didn't work at all. Luckily, Amazon is amazing and refunded me for the faulty product. So, here I am, $300 in the hole and having to buy HP ink - which sucks. BUT it works. and it works the best! If you have a nice printer, take care of it and buy the ink it's supposed to use.
