  • Now I know the temperature and humidity on my house, front porch, crawlspace area 1 and 2.
Color: White
I have some dampness moisture issues in my crawlspace. I want to determined humidity there compared with the exterior in the hopes of reducing humidity and moisture content. I am soon getting a hot tub and I will be interested in keeping up with temperatures inside that unit housing. Setting up took a little trial and error and rereading of the leaflet that came with it and on line info in the product listing. The main unit and 3 remotes all read within a degree and a humidity percentage or so when placed side by side. They all registered within 10 minutes or less. Response time is fine for my needs. In keeping up with humidity in my crawlspaces and exterior I hope to determine when to open and close my foundation vents or whether I need to take steps toward a sealed crawlspace. The main unit is actually smaller than I expected but still very readable on my laundry room wall. 4 sets of readings... the main unit in that room and remotes 1,2,3. Battery life not determined yet. This was about the first time I remember betting an item like this with not batteries supplied and I needed 9. There is no naming of unit locations, just labeled 1,2,3. Currently located with 1 on the front porch and 2 and 3 in order of location front to back. Of course there is no digital recording of readings. I am pleasantly surprised. Only negative is that the remote cases are a little tricky to open and close for battery replacement or polarity change as I got one battery in backwards. 6 month update.... still working as intended. I have not had to replace any batteries yet. It is keeping up with the sensor remotes. Very accurate where I have another thermometer giving info on the same location. One remote is placed in my hot tub frame and giving me temperature and humidity there too. ... show more

  • Works well so far but be sure to iinstall batteries in sensors first
Color: White
Received shipment on time based on Prime membership. Shipment was packed well and was easy to unpack. I installed nine AAA batteries (which I provided) into the display unit and three sensors. The sensor temps failed to display. I reinstalled the batteries and still couldn't get the displays to work. Instructions were provided so I finally read them and learned that batteries must be installed in the sensors before the main display unit. That worked. With the sensors sitting together the readouts were within less than a degree of one another. Updates are fairly slow, as they are with a regular thermometer, so don't expect instantaneous changes, such as you might expect with a grill thermometer, for example. I put one sensor in our kitchen refrigerator, another in the same refrigerator's freezer, and the third in our main freezer a floor below. All temps read well and consistently so far, using Duracell alkaline batteries. The sensors are each labeled 1, 2 or 3, respectively, and they do match the displays numbered accordingly, so there was no confusion about placing the sensors where I needed them to be to achieve the order of readouts I wanted.. The sensors are physically small so they don't use much space, and the display unit is easy enough to read.. With only about 24 hours of use there appears to be no issue with the cold environments and metal enclosures. Assuming the unit continues to work well, I would consider this to be a good value, with the absence of batteries being a notable exception.. ... show more

  • Reasonably accurate & durable Reasonably accurate & durable
After unpacking and letting the units sit for an hour, the main unit and the remotes measured within 1 degree of another thermometer I had. I didn't have a hygrometer to compare against, but the numbers are plausible. Response time to temperature changes is on the slow side. Performance has been good across a range from negative teens to low 120s Farenheit. Range is decent, working through a floor and a few walls. The process of connecting the remotes to the base is not particularly reliable, taking a few tries, but once connected they do stay that way until batteries fail. Batteries in the main unit last me about 11 months, while remotes tend to be better. There's some variation in battery life between locations, likely due to the batteries' performance in temperature extremes themselves rather than any issue with the remotes. Remotes are not labeled as weatherproof but have survived installation under partial cover which does not protect against blowing rain and snow. ... show more

  • Long range connections, very reliable.
Color: White
I am on my second set of these, great connectivity, great range of distance. Batteries last a long time. I have one sensor in my barn, 50 yards from the base unit, the other 2 are in freezers in the garage and basement. Great product.

  • Works VERY well - just wish it was a bit larger
Color: White
I did the setup based on several of the reviews here noting that the batteries go in the sending units first. I did all 3 of them, then put batteries in the receiver. Two stations popped up immediately, and I had to reset the batteries a couple-two-three times to get the 3rd station to start reporting. I live on the side of a hill...and i am always wondering (aka worrying) about the cold weather and water lines. I placed one unit down under, one in a corner of the eaves of the house, and one inside my work shop (no heat yet). Waited a couple hours then began comparing readings to remote weather stations, and thermometer stuck in a glass of water. Truthfully - I was pretty amazed at the closeness of the reports. The largest variance was just barely 1° - and that was here in the house (as compared to the thermostat setting). All said, this was an very easy install/setup, and the data being reported helps to alleviate any worry. Knowledge is power!! Now the wish list! 1) larger screen and numbers. Something in the range of 8" x 6" with number size adjusted accordingly. 2) Alerts. Being able to set a minimum for a particular channel - with an audible alert would serve well! Update: I have had these for all of a year now, plus some, and they have continued to work - WITHOUT FAIL!. From the major power outage last year here in Texas, to the freezing cold snap this year - these units have continued to report from their perspective locations. Temperature variations are maybe +/- 1°. ... show more

  • Power on Sensors (especially #1) first before adding batteries to the main display
Color: White
I'm writing this just to add information. When it came time to replace batteries, I replaced them in the Display unit and sensors #2 and #3. #1 sensor was out in the yard and I didn't go get it at first. After replacing the batteries, nothing worked. The display was working fine, but it showed none of the sensors. After reading another review here, I learned that I had to power up the sensors first. So I tried that and again nothing worked. Once I repeated the process and included #1 sensor with new batteries, finally everything worked once again. So I guess the #1 sensor is important to the process. I have been very happy with this device for more than three years now. ... show more

  • A must during winter A must during winter
Color: White
To keep tabs on sensitive crops during cold periods, you need this product. The winter of 2023 in SoCal has been crazy. Long periods of record low temps and even snow in extremely low elevations. We have recently planted Avocado trees and Mango trees that need protection and these have come in handy. I can see the spots in the yard where the temperatures are cooler. I can see when temps dip down low enough to warrant frost covers etc. I am using rechargeable batteries in both the main monitor and the sensors. The batteries have going strong for over a month with no obvious signs of drainage. So they should last for months with no issues. The main display is easy to read and had the zones clearly dived into the three different zones. The sensors are super easy to add to the main display bu simply toggling through the proper sensor number the holding it down. When the wireless signals flashes, its connected. Additionally, like that I see the temperate and humidity level. This is a 5-star item and is highly recommended. ... show more

  • Nice and easy to ready, but... Nice and easy to ready, but...
Color: White
This was the second time I bought these ORIA units, the first time was back in July of 2021. They aren't too accurate, but for my need they were fine. My issue is that the website does not tell you that even though this latest purchase was over 2 years after my initial purchase, they all share the same frequencies. For instance, sensor one's frequency from two years ago is the same as sensor one's current frequency, the same goes for sensors two and three. So while these work, you cannot buy two sets and expect six different temperatures. In the picture above is my first unit (black) and the newest unit (white). They have been sitting in the same place for over 12 hours. What I would have expected is the white unit to show the same temperatures across the board, since all sensors are sitting right next to each other and next to the main unit. Nope, as you can tell they are all different. Worse, they are all reading the temperature of the three sensors that came with the black unit. Not sure why either. I removed all the batteries, let the units sit for a few hours and then put the batteries back in and they are still showing the three temperatures as the sensors that came with the black unit. So as a double check, I removed the batteries from an old unit and left them in the new unit. After a couple of minutes, both main units showed the new unit temp. I then removed the batteries from the new unit and replaced the batteries in the old unit. Again, after a few minutes, both main units showed the temperature from the old sensor; one unit was indoors and the other on the back porch. This confirms that you cannot have two of these main units and show six different temperatures in six different locations. As for accuracy, it’s a crap shoot. However, unit three is on my outside porch and it is currently raining, so IMO, I’d say that the white unit humidity reading is more accurate than the black unit. ... show more
