  • BENEFITS: Provides excellent aeration, improves drainage, and prevents soil compaction when used as an amendment. Use as a base in your potting or gritty mix for improved drainage. Create the perfect environment for your plants to thrive! Your terrariums will thank you!
  • ORCHIDS: Acts as a water reservoir, which promotes root growth and climb. For planting or repotting a plethora of orchids including Phalaenopsis, Cattleyas, Dendrobiums, Oncidiums, Paphiopedilums, and All Epiphytic Orchids. Great for repotting root bound or nursery pot size store-bought orchids.
  • HYDROPONIC HEAVEN: Cz Garden Clay Pebbles are the #1 Substrate for Hydroponic Gardeners. Why? Because our Clay Pebbles provide outstanding stability for plant roots, ensures excellent root aeration, prevents rotting and excess acidity, does not harvest bugs and discourages fungus gnat growth. Easily fill net pots/cups with our Clay Pebbles in your DWC & NFT Hydroponics, Flood & Drain, Aquaponics, Aquaculture, and Tower Garden.
  • BEWARE OF WILD pH SWINGS: Cz Garden Clay Pebbles are All Natural, Inert, pH-neutral, stable, and decorative. Beware of lower quality clay pebbles with wild ph swings!
  • BEWARE OF FLOATING CLAY PEBBLES: Cz Garden Clay Pebbles SINK. Floating Clay Pebbles do not absorb enough moisture so they float. Floating clay pebbles will essentially float away when you water your plants. This is especially problematic in hydroponics, aquariums, or if using as a decorative top layer. Cz Garden Clay Pebbles absorb the proper amount of moisture plants desire, so they SINK.
  • RESEALABLE, EASY POUR PACKAGING: Cz Garden Clay Pebbles are professionally packaged in a Heavy-Duty resealable pouch designed for long term storage. Pour the necessary quantity with ease and store the rest for future use.

Top Amazon Reviews

  • High quality
Size: 2 LBS Cz Expanded Clay Pebbles
I recently purchased the Expanded Clay Pebbles LECA Grow Media for my plants, and I am absolutely impressed with the results! Here’s my detailed review: Product Quality and Design The quality of these LECA pebbles is excellent. They are made from expanded clay, which means they are both lightweight and durable, providing excellent drainage for plants. The pebbles are of consistent size and shape, making them easy to handle and ensuring uniformity in my plant setups. They also have a rough texture, which provides great surface area for root development, which is essential for strong, healthy plants. Ideal for Multiple Growing Methods I’ve used these pebbles in a variety of growing methods, including hydroponics, aquaponics, and as a soil additive for regular plants and orchids. In each case, they’ve performed beautifully: • For hydroponic setups, they provide the right balance of aeration and water retention, allowing roots to breathe while staying hydrated. • In aquaponics, they help create a stable, well-oxygenated environment for both plants and fish. • As a soil conditioner, they help improve the drainage and structure of heavier soils, preventing waterlogging and root rot. Perfect for Orchids and Other Plants I’ve also used these clay pebbles with my orchids, and I can see a noticeable improvement in their growth. The high porosity of the pebbles allows air to circulate around the roots, which is essential for orchids that need good air flow and proper moisture levels. It also helps prevent the roots from becoming too wet, which is crucial for these types of plants. Ease of Use The pebbles are incredibly easy to use. I simply rinse them to remove any dust, then add them to my hydroponic system, pot, or garden bed. They are low-maintenance, requiring very little attention once set up. The water retention is just right—they absorb moisture but don’t retain too much, which prevents mold or mildew growth. Sustainability The fact that these are made from natural clay is a big plus for me. They are eco-friendly and a much better alternative to some synthetic growing media. The fact that they can be reused multiple times makes them a sustainable choice for any gardener or hydroponic enthusiast. When I’m done with a setup, I simply clean and reuse the pebbles for my next round of plants. Great Value for Money Given the high quality of the product and the amount you get for the price, this LECA grow media offers excellent value. The pebbles are versatile and suitable for a wide range of plant types, making it an investment that pays off in healthier plants and a more efficient growing environment. Conclusion Overall, I’m extremely happy with the Expanded Clay Pebbles LECA Grow Media. It’s a fantastic product that improves plant growth, enhances root health, and works well in both hydroponic and traditional soil setups. Whether you’re growing orchids, vegetables, or using it in a more advanced aquaponics system, this is a must-have for any serious gardener. Rating: 5 stars out of 5. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to improve plant growth and create a better growing environment! ... show more

  • The best leca I’ve ever had, the only one I’ll buy
Size: 4 LBS Cz Expanded Clay Pebbles
This is perfect leca. Nice and tiny size makes it so pleasant to plant with. Requires the usual rinsing and a bit of sifting to remove broken bits, but less than some other brands I tried. Bag seems small, but will fill at least two 6” pots and then some. Would be buying again. If you’re new to leca: wash it like rice, rinsing until the water is mostly clear behind first use. Wash out outside, don’t let clay down your drain. I also recommend using a sifter after the first rinse to separate the fines. Pro tip: store the clean leca in nutrient water, so it’s hydrated and ready to go when planting. I store mine in a giant cleaned out costco pretzels container, but a 4qt cambro should also work. Remember leca is super lightweight but voluminous, ... show more

  • Pretty good, will actually sink
Size: 4 LBS Cz Expanded Clay Pebbles
Good leca compared to most. About half of them sank after soaking for 48 hours. I boiled the remaining half that was still floating to release the air pockets for about 10 minutes. Then let them sit in the water for another 5 minutes and they all sank.

  • Good for Deep water
Size: 2 LBS Cz Expanded Clay Pebbles
Bunch these up all around your plant to block light from the roots. You can use these over and over again but you need to watch out for fungus and rusts or any foreign colonies. Fortunately there are a ton of different ways to clean up your medium. These are what you need to grow your plants.

  • I recommend this product!
Size: 2 LBS Cz Expanded Clay Pebbles
This is the second bag of Clay Pebbles I have purchased. I was not sure about them at first, but now after a couple months, I can give an educated positive review. I needed some real help with my orchids! I was doing just about everything wrong, and they were not doing well at all. Along with following some instructions from the Orchid Girl videos (which I love), and buying some new plastic pots with drainage slots, and using these pebbles, I think I may have saved some of my plants. My main problem seemed to be overwatering, and the bark potting stayed too damp between waterings. Recently I started repotting my orchids using a combination of these pebbles and bark. Everyone has different techniques, but this one seems to be helping me. I put some pebbles on the bottom of the pot, and then put the plant in the pot, sitting the roots on the pebbles, and then I sprinkle some more pebbles in between the roots until the pot is filled a little more than 1/3rd (see photo). Then I fill the remainder of the pot with a coarse bark blend, one that has good size pieces and won't break down easily. I have been really pleased!! In, just in a few months, most of my orchid plants have brightened up, their leaves are shiny and the are giving me pleasure as house plants again. I hope I get some blooms, of course, but the first step is to get the plants healthy! In the 1st photo, you can see that new roots are growing happily both in the bark and the pebbles. I really think the pebbles are helping with drainage, and they hold in some moisture without oversaturating the roots of my plants. I recommend this product! Best Regards, Robin Lyons ... show more
