From the Manufacturer Oregon is a world leader in mower blade manufacturing. Our patented Gator Mulcher 3-N-1 blades redirect the airflow allowing the grass clippings to be cut into small pieces. They will allow mowers not equipped with a mulching blade to reduce the volume of blade clippings and will reduce your fall leaf cleanup time. Unlike most mulching blades, they will allow you to bag your clipping and leaves, but because the pieces you will stop less often. Blades are made to a 26 point quality checklist that insures our blades meet exacting standards and give you a great looking lawn. We offer blades to fit many brands of walk behind and riding mowers.

  • Excellent, Expensive, Worth It!
Size: 5 pt. star
This is our second purchase of these blades. Our first set performed so well that we decided to order them again! For seven seasons we tried every blade from Amazon and elsewhere that fit our Craftsman 42" mower. Some of the blades didn't even last the season without bending, distorting or just requiring resharpening when cutting our acre of thick Zeon Zoysia grass. We found the blades manufactured by Oregon generally superior to others we tried. These Gator blades are really no more resistant to bending or becoming dull than other heavy-duty Oregon blades, and they are more expensive. What makes them worth it is their performance. They cut cleanly into very fine pieces and distribute the pieces relatively evenly into the lawn, with or without the mulching attachment installed. The result is faster mowing, less raking and a very pretty lawn! ... show more

  • Excellent, solid blade - much more effective than the oem.
Size: 5 pt. star
Purchased this blade to replace a mulching blade on my Husqvarna mower. Noticed immediately that it's much heavier duty than what was on there, it feels much heavier and more solidly built. Cuts grass effortlessly - still left a bit of clumping in thick, wet long areas but that's to be expected. Nonetheless, the deck never clogged. As others have mentioned, make sure you install the blade with the "teeth' facing up and toward the deck and not down toward the grass. Also, these teeth do NOT require sharpening - their function is only to create turbulence and direct the grass clippings into the blade edge for finer cuttings. ... show more

  • Good blade
Size: 5 pt. star
This is a good blade but is not a "miracle" blade. I live in the country and my "yard", or I guess it should more aptly be "the area I mow on a regular basis", conists of some grass (St. Augustine, Bermuda) and more weeds than grass. I mow my approximately 1/2 acre "yard" with a 42" riding lawnmower. Pro: This blade cuts well in the grass. It mulches everything small enough that I don't have to worry about thatch buildup. And, it has accomplished what I wished when I purchased it. I now mulch when mowing versus catching the grass or just exhausting it out the side. This is much better for my "yard" and hopefully it will help the grass run the weeds out. One great advantage is that my mowing time has decreased from 2-3 hours to 1 - 1/2 hours by not having to dump bagging bins or go over the yard several times to mulch the clippings, so that in itself is worth the price of the blades. Con: This blade is no better than any other I've tried with the weeds. Most of the weeds are just too tough for mowing at any speed other than low speed and cutting consistently in one pass. I think that this would be the case with whatever blade used but I was hopeful this one would be different, but that is not the case. Don't know that this is a knock on the blade as much as my "yardening" for not taking care of the weeds! Overall, I am well satisfied with the blades and will continue to use them. Other reviews have noted how long these last. I've only used the blades for a short time this season, so I'll have to hold judgement on that to see what kind of effect the weeds have on blade wear and tear. ... show more

  • Fantastic Blades for a Craftsman Lawn Tractor
Size: 5 pt. star
I ordered 2 Gator blades, and they matched the size on my 42" Craftsman rider mower very well. I think these are a big improvement over the older style mulching blades I had used. Even with keeping the old blades sharp, these Gator blade fins seem to do a much better job of getting the grass chopped into small pieces. I get a better looking cut, more even grass dispersal, and I have been able to run the mower in a higher gear. All good so far. They are heavy and look like they will last quite a while. These blades cost me a little more money, and are a bit louder, it seems, but provide a big improvement to my mowing. So far, I like them very much. They are keepers. ... show more

  • Good, tough and heavy duty.
Size: 5 pt. star
These blades live on my Husqvarna 42" 20hp mower. I live in an area where rocks grow almost as fast as the weeds. The blades are far thicker and heavier than stock blades or Home Depot type replacement blades. I made it through the mowing season without having to replace them, which is a first for me. With other blades, while mowing thick grass, my discharge chute would clog frequently. I have not had that problem with these blades. The only downside I can see to these blades is that if you live in a rocky area it will make it tougher on the rest of your mower, i.e. belts, pulleys and mandrels...these blades don't "give" as readily when they hit something besides grass. For my purposes and the results I expect, these blades are 5+. ... show more

  • Easy and effective
Size: 5 pt. star
These blades were very easy to put on; although it's important to say that the lawn tractor has to be raised off the ground a few inches. I was concerned that they would need sharpening, but after the second use, I determined that they did not. Of course, they will need regular maintenance in future. With the first use, I did not feel that they would successfully mulch the grass, but I probably had the cutting level set too low. With the second use (not the second round in one use, but another cutting a few days later) and a better--and healthier--cutting level, the success of the mulching blades was apparent. Since then I have been happy with the blades. My trees drop leaves all summer, and even the fragments of those leaves are not apparent on the lawn after I pass over them. Of course, when the leaves fall heavily in October and November, I do not expect these blades to shred them. I will have to bag them as I mow. However, the mulching blades will compact the leaves considerably, making for fewer empties. I imagine most people know all this, so I don't know how valuable my comments are, but I am certainly glad I bought them. ... show more

  • Very Good Blade
Size: 5 pt. star
Took a chance with this blade because of the positive reviews concerning it, and mainly because I wasn't sure it would fit, but at a savings of almost half over the OEM blades decided it was worth the chance. Purchased these for my 61" Husqvarna Zero Turn Mower, and of course I needed three blades to do the job for these nearly 3 1/2 acres over various types of terrain. Jacked up the mower and took off the old blades and then discovered these new blades fit perfectly!!! Mowed the entire property and would have to say these blades worked very well, although I wasn't using them this time as mulchers since I had my discharge chute wide open, but I did notice that what was discharged was cut up very fine and didn't have any wind row of grass. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing how well these blades will do come Fall when I have a thousand bushels of leaves to mulch. And if they truly do mulch the leaves down to powder then I'll be ordering another set to have in reserve. I would not hesitate to recommend these blades to anyone looking for a good quality mower blade at a VERY GOOD price point!! ... show more

  • Mulcher Blade
Size: 5 pt. star
I purchased this blade thinking it would mulch the lawn clippings into small 1/8 in or smaller pieces like our previous Honda lawnmower did. This blade in an adequate mowing blade but a terrible mulching blade!! I would not recommend this blade to anyone looking to mulch their lawn clippings.
