It quickly and easily cuts through low grass and grass-like weeds yet is durable enough to tackle sizable brush without breaking. This trimmer line is less likely to bond together in the trimmer head due to its weld-resistant outer layer. .155" diameter trimmer line is an ideal fit for many string trimmer models, including but not limited to Remington RM1159. Magnum Gatorline is compatible with most trimmer head systems including fixed-line, semi and automatic bump-feed heads. Additionally, it fits most gas, electric and battery-powered curved and straight shaft string trimmers. I have a walk behind 6HP string mower that uses .155 line. I bought a roll of triangle yellow Ugly nylon style line from Sears 14 years ago when I got and that 100 ft. roll lasted a long time, but breakage and slip out was always a problem. It was soft, easy ro bend, and didn't really seat securely under the head clips. I thought this was just normal. I finally ran out. But after getting this Oreon Magnum line, my whole thought about .155 line changed. This is much much stiffer, thicker, a true square cut, and unless you hit actual small trees, does not break or pull out every 5 minutes. I beat the bonkers out of this stuff. If you hit small trees, it takes a beating but will break, but with protest It has a core you can clearly see. I am very amazed about how well this .155 line works. Some people mention getting .170 line for walk behind weeders. I imagine it would work real well if you could get it to insert by using a torch to soften the bend, but this .155 line fits quite tightly and securely. Not sure if .170 would pull into the head hooks. This .155 takes a pretty stiff pull and bend and to seat. Regarding using .170, you do need to have a limit on how much stress you put on the mower head. The replacement for a DR style trimmer head is close to $100. Secondly, the current price for this .155 for the amount you get is unbeatable. This roll is very big and will last till you die! It's a great buy currently. Not sure if the Platnum is as good from reading the reviews. But this stuff is impressive and still safe. ... show more

If this line can fit in your trimmer head, and you need some heavy duty line. This 100% works!! I have a commercial duty Stihl trimmer with an Echo Speed Feed head. I had to modify the inner hub of the head to accept this thicker line by drilling out the hole to a larger diameter. This line is so strong my safety guard line trimmer has a hard time cutting it after feeding. I live in the country, not a huge property but have a riverbank, lots of wire fence line and plenty of oak trees.. this is the first time since I bought this property in 5 years that I trimmed the entire property in just one session. Mowed down heavy weeds and saplings with ease. Only had to bump the speed feed twice all morning! Super Heavy Duty Line!! ... show more

This line is very durable for heavy grass and weeds. Lasts longer than OEM trimmer line. The square shape takes more horsepower to rotate but cuts quicker and easier making up for slightly reduced RPMs. This line 'slices' through weeds and grass whereas round line tends to beat the grass and weeds. In addition this line moves the cut grass to the side and out of the way better than round line. Works well on tougher grasses that are more difficult to cut. 8/19/2019 addition In the fall we have a very tough grass (crowfoots grass and broadleaf signal grass). Both extremely difficult to cut... DR'S ROUND GREEN LINE JUST BEATS IT DOWN. This line actually cuts the grass... EASILY I MUST SAY... AND MOVES IT TO THE SIDE TO CONTINUE CUTTING. I DON'T CARE HOW OTHERS RATE THIS TRIMMER LINE BUT IF YOU WANT THE BEST... IT IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO INSERT IN THE DR head BUT ROUNDING THE ENDS MAKES THIS TASK MUCH EASIER. I've tried a dozen other lines including steel cable. Started with the .095 Gatorline then .105 and then I drilled 3/16" holes in the line holder (Stihl Kombi 131R) for the .155 Gator line. The head only takes 6' of the .155 but it outlasts 24' of .095. The one failing is the line lasts so long that it breaks off inside the head. ... show more

The line is not as good as it was when I have bought it in the past. It is not as square as it was since the corners are rounded of a bit do it did not cut through thicker weeds/vines as well. I will be trying another brand next time.
