  • Get it, like now. I SAID NOW!!
This. Is. A. BEAST! The micro terror is 20w, first off. That's just nuts. This thing puts out so much power, its insane. The tiny cab sounds good enough, but the amp would be a lot better in something bigger to be honest. The only issue I have is that this really isn't a bedroom amp, its not quiet enough for that. I mean, I can kind of get away with it at 1 or 2 volume but you can't turn up the gain much at all. If you do try to get some crunchy sounds out of it, it will be LOUD AF, even on volume 1. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there are better amps for practicing in your room where you can get more out of them. Never tried it with a band or anything, but honestly as loud as this thing gets, if you run it through a large cab, you could probably do some practice sessions with it, MAYBE even gig with it. It really is amazingly powerful. Simple, but powerful. Oh, one complaint I have is that the simulated headphone out is not that great. Its kinda scratchy when you are playing a bit hard, but for this tiny thing it is good enough. Overall I love this tiny little amp and its an Orange so it sounds super good! You should buy it, no regrets at all here. ... show more

  • Holy smokes!
If you are considering this setup look no further! Before this I was using a 50 watt Vox combo amp. It was heavy and bulky and a great amp, but this Orange set is SWEET. It's light, it's attractive, and significantly louder than I expected. It is loud enough to fill my entire house (4000 sq feet). I was surprised when someone said they use this little guy on gigs... Now I get it! You won't be disappointed here. ... show more

  • Great combo rig for the price also doubles as a back up head in a pinch when gigging.
Amazing little combo purchased for my wife so she can practice along with me while she learns how to play. I didn’t want to spend a fortune in case she decides she doesn’t want to continue. Surprisingly, mine was shipped with the Micro Dark Terror Head over the micro terror which is cool because I could use the fx loop as a practice amp at home versus studio amps. Additionally, my friend who wanted a cheap backup practice rig ordered at the same as I did and also received the micro dark head inside the sealed orange combo box packaging... I am thinking orange is now shipping all of the combo amps out with the upgraded micro dark heads versus the micro terror only loss is the aux port which can be easily addressed by other means. Overall an amazing sounding combo rig for the price I will definitely be using the head as a backup when I gig just to be safe allot lighter than carrying around amped tube head that weighs over 70 lbs ... show more

  • You have to hear it to believe it
I had read a few reviews from other buyers saying that this little thing packed a punch but nothing prepared me for it. It is hard to believe how loud this little guy gets, ontop of that it stays clean even at high volumes. There is a review on here that says that someone is using this at a gig, I laughed that off but I completely believe it now. It is worth the money. ... show more

  • Budget gear for
You get what you pay for.........The speaker that comes with the Micro Terror is really wasteful. The gear is barely entry level. I fall into the category of those who had a few extra buck and were curious about the tube sound/experience. In this regard, it was a bad purchase for me. Odd though I enjoy it when playing at low/mid volume in the lead parts when playing with others in my livingroom...but then (sigh....) i am carrying a bit more buyers remorse than I usually would. All things considered, its a tough call...but again, what did i expect....honestly i dont know. I know that i get far more enjoyment out of my solid state amps that are comparable in price. If i could do it all over, i'd buy just the head and put the difference toward the the 12in cabinet. That said, even with the 12 inch speaker, I was not getting much better low end tone. What is beefy is the mid range. I get a very aggressive gas powered mid range sound with my Epi Les Paul Standard The tone is rubish though ....the tone pot offers a range = to clock radio smothered by pillow to just clock radio. Sorry if this sounds conflicting....but really I am torn...im going to keep it yes, but i could have done better TLDR: Cheap combo/ if money is issue consider solid state, as you will grow out of this way too soon. However if you dont mind blowing a couple hundo...the head and the 12 might be worth a look - decent volume if that is your thing..tone is crap ... show more

  • Powerful amp
This is a great amp. Unfortunately I don’t have space to play it loud enough to have it distort the way I want. When it’s cranked up a bit, it sounds great. For some perspective, I’m new to learning guitar, and was comparing this with a fender mustang amp. I don’t have a niche music interest or band to play in... so I’m leaning away from this particular amp until I can dial in the tone I’m looking for ... show more
