  • What a great 15/7. 5 Watt all tube amp head
What a great 15/7.5 Watt all tube amp head. I am running it through an Orange PPC112 cab and love the sound. Surprisingly loud if you want it to be, but great at reasonable home volumes too. The FX loop is a nice feature and works really well. I have it set clean for playing easy and hit a stomp pedal to make it rock. Very responsive to how hard you play. Just for fun I am going to get another PPC112. ... show more

  • Worth every penny!
This little amp has big tone. If you are looking for English drive tones at a controllable volume, this amp will deliver. The dual power output is consistent on both settings. The tone and cut are very classic rock sounding on lower settings, and can be driven into modern crunch/metal tone. For the price, you can't do much better. ... show more

  • The best 15W tube head.
Simple interface. Tons of gain. Hands down best 15W tube amp.

  • Not for me
Didn’t have the orange classic tone it said it. 7 watts was lacking and the 15 watt was over saturated with mud not a lot of clarity. Played through 3 cabinets ; single 15 , 2x12 and a 4x12. Ran a couple pedals through and still could get the desired tone. Something about this amp is missing.

  • Great amp
I bought one used several years ago and have loved it ever since. I have owned and used a few tube amps over the years but this one is probably my favorite. Great as a bedroom amp, or even a practice/recording amp. And I'm sure it can do a live gig if mic'd to a PA. The effects loop is nice and has taken each of my overdrive and fuzz pedals nicely. The cleans are good, I'm sure they can be even better with an EQ pedal, but it's fine without it. And it can get a good classic crunch from it with an overdrive in front of it. The gain channel has plenty for me, I didn't want a really high gain amp which is fine. It can hold its own, but it's just not the same as say the Peavey 6505+ I owned. I bought this amp for rock and doom metal type stuff and it does that perfectly in my opinion. Don't come into this thinking it's going to shatter the room and have loads and loads of distortion, it's just not that amp. I have used two 10" speakers with this amp and that really kicked up the headroom, but a 15 watt amp is only going to have but so much umphff to it. I would recommend to anyone wanting to imitate that classic 70s and 80s metal vibe like Black Sabbath or Judas Priest or even newer bands like The Sword or Mountain Witch. It really shines in that area, I think. ... show more

  • Amazing amp for certain sounds
I've had this amp for 8 years and I love it. Negatives - It doesn't have much clean headroom at all. If you are turning up the volume you'll definitely be in overdrive territory. It doesn't have enough juice to be louder than a drummer without losing character, unless you have a 4x12 cab. It doesn't take dirt pedals well due to low headroom, and only has one channel. The tone controls are limited. It doesn't do super modern Djenty sounds out of the box. Positives - Amazing tone for metal, rock, punk, stoner metal. Rich and beautiful sound. Try swapping in a 12AT7 in the preamp section for a little more headroom. Gets very loud. Although it can't handle dirt pedals, you'd be hard pressed to find one that sounds better than the tube distortion on this amp. There is a video of a guy playing a TH30, Rockerverb mk III, and OR15, and this amp sounds just as good if not better. Despite the negatives I still gives this 5 stars, since it is perfect for me. I'd like to upgrade to a rockerverb mkIII someday but its like 3x the cost of this amp! ... show more

  • If you want 2 channels buy two. In a league of it's own.
I use this amp with the Orange 212OB cab ( highly recommend) and sound is fantastic with les Paul or single coils strat. I ride my volume knob and play a lot of rhcp and this amp provides the frusciante fuzz without needing a dozen pedals. There's no easy way to get stage loud sterile clean sounds from it which is perfect for me playing progressive and rock. The amp has limited low end frequency ( by design) at less than ear bleeding volumes so no chuga chuga possible at bedroom volume for metal players. This amp is the most touch sensitive amp ive played, every detail of my touch is amplified with rich harmonics so the emotion just pours out the speaker. Only complaint I have is it's loud as hell with efficient speakers and they dont make a 2 channel version. ... show more
