  • I finally have nails that I'm proud of
Color: Powerful Pink
Nail Envy polish works wonders with time! Picuture shows the Powerful Pink color (one coat). It reminds me of a beautiful red onion, and it has a pearlescent effect. My fingernails have always been very thin and peel easily, so it was impossible to let them grow without getting a little split that would then rip the whole nail tip into the skin fold. I tried wearing acrylics for a few months last year, but that didn't really work out or improve my nail strength the way I'd hoped, so I took them off 6 months ago. The salon tech that did the acrylic removal overfiled my nails and left them ridiculously thin and flexible; I was so nervous that they were ruined and would be painful. I bought the OPI Nail Envy as well as the Orly Nailtrition and alternated between both for several weeks to try and strengthen my natural nail. I did not see any huge improvement in my nails after 2 months of following the treatment instructions, but they were "stabilized" and I just kept them filed really short. Here's where the magic happens: because I liked the formula and color so much, I just used the Nail Envy as regular ol' nail polish. I know that the instructions are to add a coat every day for a week, but this stuff is so good and durable even without doing that! I paint 2 coats of nail envy and then add a top coat, and I swear it lasts just as long as any other lacquer. I can wear it for a week without chips and it looks great. Another huge win: it dries super fast! So, I can do that nail envy quick manicure (2 coats plus rapidry top coat) and it'll be ready to go in about 45 minutes. Sometimes i would add blue glitter polish over the pink, and it would have a cool holographic effect. Because it was so easy, quick to use, and durable, I ended up using the nail envy about every-other time I would paint my nails. Just regular color lacquer in between. So I've been doing that for 4 months or so, and I just realized that for the first time EVER I have strong, healthy nails that don't require a ton of maintenance and I can grow a little bit of length without fear of cracks or peeling. They are noticeably thicker and do not bend as much. I can apply a bit of pressure at the side or tip and my nail will not split or peel like before. (Note- I'm keeping them filed in a round shape, which I did not do before.) Nail Envy seems to have put an end to a 10+ year struggle with awful, painful fingernails and I'm most grateful. I also have nail envy in clear, and I've used 2 coats of it as a base coat under color lacquer and it seems to hold up pretty well. I can get 5-7 days of wear out of it which is not bad at all for regular polish. ... show more

  • Miracle product for natural nail restoration
Color: Clear
One gel manicure in advance of a long trip and my nails were totaled. Thin, peeling, cracking and it went on for months. My sister had same experience after a gel manicure and she found this product and told me about it. It work extremely well at restoring your natural nails but you need to keep up with it. Miracle product but it won’t fix your nail permanently overnight. It takes almost a year. ... show more

  • If this doesn't work, you're probably applying it wrong
Color: Pink to Envy
The first thing you need to know is that Nail Envy does not apply like regular OPI nail lacquer. So, if you're trying to use it that way, it won't work. Here are the most important things to know: 1) This stuff works. After having acrylic nails for years, my nails were destroyed. I quit the acrylics and gel applications and the only thing that helped my nails grow back out was Nail Envy. 2) Before you apply this polish, you need to use nail polish remover to ensure your nails are completely clean. Any type of residue will keep it from staying on your nails - even more so than with other nail polish. 3) This is thicker than the OPI nail lacquer, so you apply it differently. You can't make several swipes with the brush, you need to only apply it once down the middle, or once down the middle and then one time on each side. If you brush on more polish than that, you will end up with a gloppy mess. Make sure there's enough on the brush to cover the nail, but no extra. It might take a couple of times to get this part right. 4) It dries VERY quickly. I love this because I can put two coats on and be ready to go in less than ten minutes - start to finish. It only takes a few minutes between coats. But that also means you can't go over the nail repeatedly - it just dries too quickly. 5) In my opinion, you should NOT put on a new coat every day. That's unnecessary and can build up so much that it peels. I normally do my nails one day and a few days later, I use one more coat. This way it lasts a full week for me. BE SURE to wipe your nails with alcohol before applying the new coat days later. The same as when you apply it to bare nails, it won't apply well if there is any residue on your nails. 6) I have only used a few colors, but in my experience, one coat of the light colors is transparent. I use the Pink to Envy and it doesn't really add any color to my nails. Even if I apply multiple coats, it's hard to tell it isn't clear. If I want color on my nails, I use two coats of the Nail Envy and a third coat of OPI Nail Lacquer. If you use multiple coats of the Nail Envy, it has a tendency to get too thick and peel (as I said earlier). I have never tried any of the darker colors, but I imagine if you use two coats of the darker shades, you will get the opaque look you want. 6) Because this lasts a full week (if applied correctly) and how quickly it dries, this is the least amount of time I have ever spent on my nails. Last but not least, it works to strengthen your nails. It's more expensive than normal nail polish, but the results are well worth the few extra dollars. ... show more

  • AN HONEST REVIEW:
Color: Big Apple Red
I wanted to give this review to give hope to others. PROS: It WORKS. You can see I have had major UV damage to my natural nail. You can see the physical difference in nail hardiness, thickness, and strength on the new nail that has been growing in, in the photos provided. I used it as suggested: paint two coats on one day, then one coat daily for one week. Repeat. I paired it with Cuccio milk & honey cuticle oil once a night. I’ve been on this journey for one month and am very pleased with the results. CONS: It does chip if applied too thickly. The red is a beautiful color but, as you can see from the photos, it does stain. Be prepared to use quite a bit of acetone & cotton balls to help clean your fingers up. Overall, I am so very happy. I gave four stars only for how this specific color performed - I would get a neutral color next time to see how it compares ... show more

  • Perfect clear-pink
Color: Pink to Envy
I recently had French tips painted onto my natural nails at a salon. This polish is what the tech used for the pink. I wanted a natural nail color, not the opaque or very pink colors I've seen used by other salons. She said this would look natural and was a strengthening polish too. I think the color is perfect! It's very, very slightly pink but in the bottle, it's see thru hot pink. That's deceiving because as you can see in the picture, it's not hot pink at all. I do construction for a living and though I wear gloves moat of the day, my hands and nails get dry and sometimes the nails get brittle and break. I've used this for 2 weeks and so far no breaking. The polish is high shine so if you're looking for a matte finish, keep hunting. I feel like as hard on my hands/nails as I am due to my line of work, the polish holds up really well for the better part of a week, and though it's clear, I do see some chipping at the tips of my nails after about a week. Once I removed the polish the nail tech initially painted on, I felt my nails were truly strengthened which is what prompted me to buy the polish so I could keep up on keeping my nails healthy. ... show more

  • If you finger pick a guitar, this probably won't save your nails
Color: Clear
As a guitar player who alternates between finger picking and finger strumming, I was looking for a way to better protect my nails. Between home chores, work and guitar playing, my nails take a beating and they crack all the time, especially in the winter. So, my wife bought this for me to try. Well, to be honest, it really didn’t seem to harden my nails. I followed all the directions, and my wife tried the product as well, but in the end neither one of us felt that our nails were stronger or harder. Certainly, they weren’t any more durable as cracking and chipping still occurred. I’m not digging rocks with my hands, in fact the hardest treatment is really playing guitar. So, if you are a guitar player and finger pick/strum with your fingers, this probably won’t be what you need. If you are less hard on your hands, then maybe it will work for you. ... show more

  • Makes nails look better with one coat
Color: Pink to Envy
I've used OPI Nail Envy in the past with mixed results and wanted to try the clear pink improved formula. Makes nails look much better with one coat, even better with two coats. So far it has a durable finish that holds up to household chores and washing dishes. I wish I had researched the ingredients as they don't appear to be anything special other than nail polish. Will update later. On a side note, Amazon could possibly lower prices if they didnt waste a big box for a small, tiny item. Just a thought Amazon! ... show more
Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2026 by Initially smells a bit like rubbing alcohol. Nice light scent for sensitive noses like my family members. Scent doesn't last all day. I noticed some other reviews mentioned that the Philosophy company had been sold some time back and that formulas are now different. I agree, this isn't the same quality as several years ago but still very expensive. Not sure I would buy this again. I will probably buy my favorite Happy by Clinique. If Philosophy would get back to quality formulas again it might be worth the price.
