I don't typically write reviews for beauty products because very few products really "wow" me these days, particularly nail creams/serums - but this product absolutely shocked me with how good it is! I did one application, just one, and let it sit for about 10 minutes on my nail and IMMEDIATELY my nails were noticeably less bendy and soft! The next day after multiple washes, scrubbing, and chores - results still the same! I applied it to a friends nails and had the exact same results, they fell in love right away. I really can't believe it, if you have been looking for a good strengthening cream, look no further! It is unscented and smells like your standard unscented lotion/hand cream. Hard as Hoof is the perfect name! I have heard that it is wise to not over-do it as too hard of nails can break more, but my nails were way too soft and bendy and kept tearing - I will definitely be keeping this as a part of my nail-care routine!

I'm impressed by the improvement in nail strength I've had over just a few weeks. I had long given up on my nails and used gel for many years. Then I decided to give it one last try and had the gel removed a few months ago. My nails were at their worst. I used jojoba oil for a couple of months before buying this cream; the jojoba dealt with the dryness but my nails remained paper-thin, tore and crumbled. When I started using Onyx, I was disappointed at first because the dryness came back. I didn't want to give up, so I started putting jojoba oil on my nails first, and the cream a few minutes later. This combination has worked wonders for me: my nails are moisturized and getting stronger by the day. They are already tougher than I thought possible given that my problem runs in the family, my mom and daughter also have papery nails. So, a great product if you get a bit creative with it. I also disliked the strong synthetic smell, but it wore off in a week or two. I'm definitely getting more.

I am surprised how well this works even just overnight. The moment central heating started up for fall, my nails started peeling and breaking, the cuticles became rough and even bled. This is a firm paste more than a cream, a tiny bit goes a long way. It makes the nails shiny when rubbed in, and almost miraculously smoothed the rough cuticles from the moment I put it on, not at all greasy. It also helps smooth the callouses on my hands. It does indeed remind me of the hoof paste I applied to horse hooves in my youth, protective as well as healing. My one reservation, not worth taking a star, is the scent -- it does not much smell like cherry or almond, more like coconut cream. I do not like the scent of coconut cream, but it is not overpowering.

I've been giving my nails a break from dip powders and they were breaking and chipping all the time but this cream works like a miracle! It's extremely hydrating and it's so rich that I end up using it as a hand cream all the time. My nails, though still a little weak from years of getting dip powder, are no longer breaking or chipping off. I definitely would recommend this!
