I installed this part and made sure all the bolts/nuts were tight. I drove to the River the next day and the handle was missing when I got to the boat launch. I was able to get the boat on and off the trailer but obviously disappointed in how easily this thing fell apart. Amazon is willing to return and refund but I've decided to purchase an upgraded handle and move on. Fair warning, make sure everything is tight and perhaps use extra steps to ensure the handle doesn't fall off like mine did.

Perfect item to add to the update of my boat. After using the original for years it was time for a new one. This one mounted easily in the same spot as the original and works so much better than the older one. I retracted very easily and smoothly. Wish it came in more colors so I could of had it match my boat color.

It says it will handle up to 1600 pounds. The winch cable is 26 feet. This will easily pull a car up onto a trailer as even though a car might weigh over two thousand to four thousand pounds, you just have to apply enough pull to get it to roll. So it will handle boats as well up to a good size. The winch cable is actually a flat strap and will wind up better than a rope cable. I got the green color which is good. You can also get orange. The winch comes with three mounting bolts with washers. If you have a wooden deck on your trailer, you may want longer bolts.

I ordered the winch with the green color strap, everything on the winch looks to be built and designed well. Made from galvanized steel and stainless hook. Having the choice of winch strap color to purchase is nice. My old winch was the rope style, this strap style will be much safer. Strap wound up nice and straight without kinking. Installation was a breeze, I made sure to torque mounting fasteners to keep bolts from breaking while winching. Nice price I would recommend this winch.
