  • great power.
Size Name: 4500lb Black
I love this winch. I especially like the rope, not the cable. The remote is a added bonus. It installed with little aggravation on the front of my UTV. The power lines to the battery were of sufficient length. I installed the hard-wired remote on the passenger side of the roll bar. You will need some zip ties to clean up wires. I haven't put it to great use yet. so, i will revise this in a year if need be ... show more

  • Awesome Winch. Much better than I expected. (FAST Customer Service A+) Awesome Winch. Much better than I expected. (FAST Customer Service A+)
Size Name: 6000lb Black
Awesome winch. VERY powerful. Based on the specs, I thought the take-up would be slow, but when there is no load is does indeed take-up faster than specs. So if you're just winding it up after doing a job, it doesn't take long at all. (pack it with @100lb load) I read the manual completely....it seems redundant, but even though I had other winches the manual brings out points that you forget. It's good to read it completely, especially if you never had a synthetic cable before. This is a great addition for my Honda Pioneer 520. It fits with a standard mounting plate that I got from another source. Customer service was VERY quick to respond when I had a question. ... show more

  • Nice winch and package. Just a couple of minor issues. Openroad 4500lb - Synthetic Roap Nice winch and package. Just a couple of minor issues. Openroad 4500lb - Synthetic Roap
Size Name: 4500lb Black
Ordered this up for my Suzuki Kingquad 450 and overall really like it and happy with the package and cost, given discount on Prime-Day. Here's the highpoints: Package comes with: 2 Wireless Remotes, Wired Cables, Fairlead, Clevis Hook, Rubber Winch Stopper, contactor/relay controller, dustplugs, and mounting bolts. *No Mounting Plate Included Pro: -Winch itself seems really well made, operates as expected, freewheel release/lock function works great. -Synthetic rope seems like good quality and adequate for size of winch. Haven't tested on full load pull yet, but don't have any concerns. -Handlebar controls are nice and work great. Adjusting the bracket by flipping it to opposite side was easy and allowed for a lot of flexibility in where it was mounted for a nice OEM-look. -Comes with 2 wireless remotes. Probably only need to carry 1 around, but nice to hold one in reserve in-case the other breaks. They seem well built and operate the winch exactly as expected. -Easy to setup and install, time to do it just comes down to how long you want to take to nicely route wires/cables. -Looks good Cons: -The length of cables is wildly goofy and should be addressed. The Red/Yellow cable that runs from relay to winch is very short, and if you plan to put the relay under the seat or higher up to protect from water and mud, it definitely won't cut it. The length implies they expect someone to mount the relay pretty low and close to the winch. Ironically however, the red/black battery cables are way to long assuming you have contactor under the seat and battery is close by(on ATV). I ended up using the red/black wires which were much longer, to make the run from winch, up and under seat to contactor/relay. This was still just a bit short, and ended up having to Butt-splice some of the length I didn't need from blue/yellow wire into them to extend them 12". In the end I made it all work with the wiring included (plus cost of couple large cage butt-splices), but took a lot longer than it needed because they were stingy with lengths of the wires. -Not giant con but room for improvement...The contactor and wireless relay come wired in an always-on configuration that would all for the winch to be operated when the ignition is off. I know, some people may want that, however in my experience it can often end with you returning to a dead battery as the wireless relay usually has a very low, but consistent draw when idle. I was able the rewire both the wireless relay and handlebar remote to be activated only when ignition is on fairly easily, but the ability to do this was not documented at all in the manual, and should be addressed as this is a very common way to wire these winches. Basically, you disconnect both the preinstalled small-gauge red jumper wires from the contactor, and connect both, along with the red wire running from handlebar remote into an ignition switched power source. Many quads come with a prewired source for winches and accessories as mine did, making it fairly easy. ... show more

  • Errant remote winch control ruined my OPENROAD winch and new front bumper like an unstoppable T-1000 Errant remote winch control ruined my OPENROAD winch and new front bumper like an unstoppable T-1000
Size Name: 12000lb Black
Hello all, Beware the wireless remote control... On March 18th, 2026, I ordered an OPENROAD 12000 lbs Panther 3S winch, and it was received on March 20th 2026. I installed it on March 23rd, 2026. Upon completion of the install, I activated one of the wireless remotes and proceeded to winch in the winch line to snug the winch hook up against the Fairlead. The remote immediately got stuck in the “winch IN” mode. Nothing I could do would stop the winch from pulling the winch line IN and crushing the Fairlead and damaging my new bumper. I tried the “off” button, the “out” button and the “signal” button repeatedly to no avail. As stated before, the winch line eventually crushed the fairlead and ruined my newly installed Stubby bumper. I finally stopped the "winch in" process by rendering the errant remote powerless with a hammer. Thank God there were no fingers involved. I am now waiting on the OPENROAD company to somehow make this right. So after the install of the new bumper and the install of the winch I am now left with uninstalling the winch for a return. I also have to get the new bumper welded and somehow paint/texture color matched to look like the rest of the bumper. Hello OPENROAD, are you listening? Updates to follow. Update as promised... It is now 05-10-2026 and this is my last email to OPENROAD about their business practice on compensating a customer when their product (winch) damages customer's property (bumper). Lulu, I'm feeling very deceived at this point. On March 26th 2026, was your first mention of the bumper refund in progress. On April 1st 2026, you mentioned the poor review I sent in to Amazon and asked that I either "update or remove" the review, if I feel that "you" have "done a good job helping you (me) through this and you’re (me) satisfied with my service", I'm not feeling this at this time. On April 3rd 2026, you assured me the bumper refund was being processed. On April 6th 2026, the bumper refund is still being processed. On April 8th 2026, you advised me that the bumper refund had been completed on your side. On April 22nd 2026, I asked for some documentation showing the bumper refund was in the works so I could present it to my lender. On April 24th 2026, I was given an attachment from you showing the winch refund, not the bumper refund. On April 27th 2026, you assured me the bumper refund should be reflected on my original payment method shortly. It is now May 6th 2026. All of these dates are from our exchanged emails. It's called a paper trail. If I don't see any movement on this matter by Friday, May 8th 2026, either from Affirm or your company, this entire email is going to be my new review. Please see the attachment showing my original payment method, business address of the lender, loan number, and the original cost of the bumper OPENROAD's defective winch destroyed. It's very sad that it has come to this, but just what is a company other than its word? ... show more
