The directions are fine. Me and my 8 year old set this up in 45 minutes. Used a 4foot ladder and a mallet. Use a tape measure and some spray paint to mark your distances first, and everything else falls right into place. We added some extra straps and anchors that I had laying around, mostly for support during wind storms .. poles are heavy strong and sturdy. My son did blast one through a corner seem of the net. I bought the large for my '09 daughter who plays club soccer. Setup. The instructions are all right but needs a re-write. They should make the manual specific to each size that they sell to save some confusion. The net itself had a few flaws that could, in time, become an issue, and I will be writing to the company to detail with pictures of my problems. The poles themselves were ok. There were some paint flaws, some flat spots and a little loose fitting on both of the top posts. For the price, I would have liked to have had metal or aluminum stakes for the goal net itself instead of the plastic ones, which I believe in time will just crack. I had no issues with the 6 pole stakes and thought they were nice and easy to get into the ground. I used the 3',4',5' method to get the initial outline squared up and some gutter nails and marking string to get everything straight. In total, it took a couple of hours with some much-needed water breaks. In Use, this works as advertised and saves a lot of running behind the net for missed shots on goal. I do not see this being that easy to move to one side, so I will make due when cutting the grass around it. Overall I would recommend this to anyone that needs a good backstop and a decent size goal. It has taken a lot of powerful shots, and after 3 solid hours of use does not show any signs of fatigue or weaknesses. ... show more

This thing took a few hours for me and my kid to put together but it's worth it. She can practice now without having to worry so much about the balls going over the fence.. as often. We followed the instructions one step at a time and got it all figured out. My only complaint.. one of the very last steps is to secure the net to the very top of the poles.. well.. you'll either need a ladder or you'll just have to settle for hooking it as high as you can reach.. still works well. ... show more

I was able to set up this net on my own in an afternoon. The directions are completely adequate and are basically foolproof if you follow them. The end result is a nice goal set up with a catching net around it which my kids love. My biggest problem is that the netting is cheap. And I mean Cheap. I've built a bunch of PVC goals as my kids have grown up and I know that this net is only good for one season...if it even lasts that long.....It is built of the flimsiest of netting material which is really frustrating for the price and also for the time involved in putting it up. The instructions are a bit confusing but once I was able to determine total net width I was able to use the correct entry in the measurements table. One thing to note, its really useful to have a survayers tape to measure things out. Also the kit I ordered was a return, but was basically brand new. The only issue I had was a single carabiner was missing, the seller sent me a replacement no questions asked ... show more

Anyone with a yard that mows or lives in an area that rains. PLEASE READ!!! This could be a fantastic concept... Would guess this was a backyard idea that turned into a business. But for the price it's missing some key upgrades to make it functional in the real world. First the clips EVEN if they didn't rust - cut the elastic when you remove for mowing. Which in my part of the US is (1.5)X a week in spring/early summer and (1) or less a week through summer into fall. Which means every time you unclip and re-clip the 6X connections the sharp edges start to damage the cords. The cheap stakes get pressed into the ground with your ride on or walk behind mower. And then require a hammer to dig and pull out. Use an anchor that simply retracts (see shopping list) you'll be happy you did. So nice to use proper clips and go. I use the clips here to roll up the net and mow under each time. Went from a frustrating 10min tear down 10min of putting back together to a few minutes of easy clip, clip done. To the designer for GEN2 >>> Move the main tension on the primary poles up 6-8" so weed eating won't cut the line. Find an anchor (better than the ones I've suggested) that will actually withstand damp ground won't pull out (see picture after a storm or running sprinkler) and high enough to edge against metal (or wrap the lower part in a casing) so you don't end up with two triangles of weeds between the support strings because the cordage is getting brittle. Bought when we were social distancing because of COVID-19. My two sons and I were able to get set up in 90 minutes. My sons are 8 and 11 and for the most part, they don't shoot over the net on the Large Open Goaaal. It is not as springy as the TEK rebounder we already had. If I had known it would be as easy to setup and actually work would have bought a year earlier. We have only used for three days so am not able to speak of the durability. Update two years later, the net lasted for two years! My son has played with it at least 3 days / week. We contacted customer service and we were able to order a new net. The rest of the hardware is in great working condition. Highly recommend the product. ... show more

Product quality appears to be great based on my experience setting up and using for a day. The instructions were really terrible. I’m experienced with tools and have setup or built more complicated devices, but this still took me 3 hours and it isn’t as tight as I expected. I’ll be reviewing YouTube install videos to see what I missed and I’d suggest you do as well before starting. To give an idea of how poor the instructions are, each step has a single sentence and a drawing or two even where the step is highly complex. They would have to triple the wording and give actual pics and tips to improve the instructions. ... show more

The concept is really good. And overall it’s a good product, but some of the equipment provided is subpar, notably the cord tension holders. These are made of plastic and started to wear on the edges within days when trying to adjust or reposition the external polls when they lost tension or collapsed due to a ball hitting the ropes or edges of the polls. The simple fix was just spending $10 on some aluminum (see pic) guyline cord holders. These worked great and are much more durable, don’t war, and hold the polls and net at a more consistent rate.
