I just received my cute little white speaker today...I CANNOT believe it's only 20 bucks for the really good sound quality it puts out. I had my Anker speaker for about 5 or 6 years and it worked great until I made the mistake of taking it in the shower with me....not under the water but off to the side...even though it was a waterproof speaker, I guess it didn't like the steam and stopped charging after that and it would never stay on for more than a couple seconds. Anker replaced it but the second one only lasted a month and they sent another one and that one lasted a couple weeks. I kept both Anker waterproof speakers away from water and steam so I guess they just don't make them like they used to. After that disappointment, it took a while for me to begin looking at new bluetooth speakers again. I was going to pull the trigger on a couple I saw on Amazon and then I found this ridiculously inexpensive Oontz Angle Solo and the majority of the reviews were pretty good so I figured if I get a lemon, the most I'd be out is 20 bucks. After checking different reviews on different bluetooth speakers on Amazon, I'm glad I went with this one. I wanted compact and white to match my white bathroom with proper bass. The sound quality is excellent as the bass is pronounced. I read that some people thought the bass was way too strong. I haven't had this problem as the bass is just right. I also love how it's waterproof so I can sit it on the shelf in the shower without any issues. I definitely don't submerge in water, but naturally tiny water droplets may hit it. I'm glad it doesn't have an intro sound when powering on/off or announce "bluetooth connected/disconnected". Pretty simple and discreet. My only issue is it randomly turned off a few days ago, even though the battery wasn't low. It hasn't happened since, but if it happens again I'll act accordingly. ... show more

i've had the older Oontz angle for probably 4 years, and it's served me very well. it's been beat up, left in the rain, used and abused, but loved! i bought this little Oontz solo for a very long trip out of the country and IT BROKE ON DAY 5!!!!!!!!! battery must have been a dud because it will only work when plugged in. and yes, of course i let it charge fully with the proper wall wort and plug. MAJOR bummer as i am in a country that not only doesn't play well with amazon (crazy expensive shipping) but as a nice bonus electronics are super expensive here. as i'm on a tight budget i'm now without music, podcasts, all of it. i'm so incredibly disappointed right now. wish i would have spent the extra on a bose unit. hard and super disappointing lesson learned i guess. update: this thing is magical lol. just to see what would happen i tried again yesterday to turn it on disconnected from power. this was after sitting on my desk, plugged in to the correct charger, for two + days. i tried repeatedly the prior day and same deal, would immediately power off when disconnected from wall wort. well this time BOOM! it's working again!!! time will tell if it continues but for now i'm listening to my jams and falling asleep to my podcasts. *updated my review to 5 stars* ... show more

This thing's amazing! I'd give it six stars if I could, great sound quality - I mean legitimately loud for its size scratch that just legitimately loud. But without being screeching nonsense like so many of it's similarly priced competitors, I can't say enough good things about this thing, absolutely AMAZING battery life... like next level - easily 12 hours solid play time, it honestly blows my mind (also makes me mad at every other company because now I know it's possible!) Plus seems quite durable, I don't throw it around or anything but I do use it on a construction job site so it takes a little kicking here and there and it seems like it could take a real knocking! Plus a nice little strap attached it's just a great great product all around ... show more

Well, my little guy kicked the bucket after years of abuse so I thought I'd write a review of the time I had with him. He died charging while plugged into my computer, so I know it wasn't a surge that killed him since many things were plugged in and nothing else died. A disturbingly loud high-pitched scream followed by a crackle and a pop were his last words to me, or perhaps he was already gone from the moment the charger hit him and this was simply a death rattle. I can't say. Those who remember him, recall such joys from his life with us: • He was loud and had a bassy voice. • He held a long charge for his whole life. Maybe wanting to hold a charge so desperately was what did him off in the end. • He was able to sustain some real abuse without a complaint. I dropped him on concrete while running up to a friend's house, watched cats knock him off tables, took him in the shower, and his little red light came on after each click of the power button. That isn't dirt you see on his corpse, it's rusted scars from the many injuries he sustained over his lifetime. • He was a frugal soul, never requiring much money. But no great man is without his faults: • He made a high-pitched whine when charging. This whine gets louder when fully charged. His brother, who is also of the Oontz family, did the same before he went to live with my father. • Some jealous rivals have called his voice too bassy to the point that he was mumbly and speech could be hard to understand in louder environments or when he spoke quietly. I think this is harsh, but fair. • Finally, he could not outlive me, his adopted parent. A real shame. Rest well, gentle soul, you will not be forgotten! ... show more

    • Great sound from just a little guy

I am a soundbar gal but I started feeling bad because when I was working in the garden I would have the soundbar full blast. I remembered when my sister came to visit she had a Bluetooth speaker I loved it. I found this speaker it seemed to have all the specs I was looking for. THIS LITTLE SPEAKER is in big man shoes for the sound is fantastic. I accidentally hit the triangle in the middle thinking it was mute, I was excited to find out its for skipping the current song.
