I bought the Onyx MoveVent Dynamic Paddle Vest for kayaking and paddleboarding, and it has been excellent. The vest is very comfortable and doesn’t restrict paddling movements, thanks to its ergonomic design and ventilation panels that allow good airflow. It adjusts easily and securely with side and front straps. The material feels durable and high-quality, and it’s certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada, which gives great confidence in its reliability. I also appreciate the front zippered pocket and the included safety whistle. The mesh at the bottom helps with ventilation and prevents overheating, which is very useful during long sessions on the water. 🔹 Pros: Certified by U.S. Coast Guard and Transport Canada. Very comfortable and well fitted life vest. Definitely gear towards the paddling community. I've written this vest for hours fishing in a kayak and have yet to feel hindered by it. Doesn't seem to got either in the va summer. But I just wear the vest when it's got. Has pieces of rejective material in higher areas on the best so they have a better chance of not being blocked by an object or a high back seat. UPDATE: I had the unexpected opportunity to test this PFD out, when I flipped my kayak while anchored fishing in a river with a dangerous rip current(signs are posted everywhere). I'm 195-200 lbs but I was wearing wool socks, dive booties, fleece pants, long sleeve shirt, fleece cap and a west marine boat crew elements jacket. This PFD worked like a charm even with all those clothes completely soaked in water along with my body weight. When I flipped I was thruster under the kayak and the current sucked my down the river and out to the side of the kayak. Now granted I'm a better than average swimmer but the PFD did its initial job and that is to assist the wearer in resurfacing and to keep the wearer partly above water. My swimming came into play due to the extremely strong undercurrent and my necessity to get back in my kayak and get out of the 50 degree F water, so I could get back to land.... alive. The vest allowed me full range of motion to swim to my capabilities and allowed the range of motion needed to flip a Hobie Pro Angler upright. I now give an even stronger rating to this PFD.

Pulls nice and tight on my body after and still feels comfy. Doesnt have all the pockets coming out all over it but does have one for the emergency whistle. I can tell its gonna be perfect if I ever fall out of my Yak!

I purchased one two years ago and then ended up going back to the same seller to purchase another one recently. The design of the life vest allows full range of motion for Kayaking and the comfort fit allows for all day wear without concern of any rashes. There is a spot on the front of the life vest that i believe allows for a camera, but without the attachment I wasn't able to mount my Gopro. (though I prefer it located on the front of my Kayak anyway). It also has a built in whistle that is attached to the life vest that can definitely come in handy. The zippers are YKK and good quality. Lastly, i don't recommend this for under 12 years old. I think this is designed more so for that 13+ range of active water sport participants that are better swimmers.

Bought a pair of Sundolphin Excursion 10' sit-in kayaks this past spring. Did a ton of research before buying a pair of these vests. Can't imagine a vest being more comfortable. The high padding on the back sits just above the upper lip of the rear of the cockpit. Fit perfectly for me and for her with minimal adjustments. That mesh you see on the back below the padding keeps everything snug. Great design idea. If the straps went right to the padding in the back I can imagine the front or back riding up depending on sizing and motion bit this works perfectly and keeps it from rubbing up on the back of the seating area on a sit-in. Sizing was perfect. The vertical angled line down the front of the vest provides a break in the foam inserts that allows the whole unit to wrap around your chest instead of feeling like you have two slabs of styrofoam duct-taped to the front of your body. Large arm openings provides great range of motion and these vests are incredibly light. You honestly don't even remember you're wearing this vest until you pull your yak out of the water and realize, "oh yeah, I have to take the vest off". Has a zippered pocket that's easily accessible and comes with an emergency whistle. Really nice vest and highly deserving of what looks like a hundred percent 5 star rating. Thanks for reading. I’m 5’11 / 180cm, 200lb/ 90kg .. 190cm around the chest. I ordered the Med/Lg size and found that I had to tighten the straps most of the way tight to perform the lift test (both thumbs under the shoulder straps while lifting) without any movement of the vest upward. I’m happy with the way it fits just over a tshirt.. if I had layers or a wetsuit top, the extra adjustment would be sufficient for proper fit. The quality of the material is very good, the reflectives are very noticeable. The main front zip is large and easy to manipulate. The bulk of the foam panels are noticeable, but not cumbersome, and contour is functional for padding and other water activities. The back pad is a high back location, allowing for kayak seats with a backrest and open mesh lower. There’s one small pocket with a tethered rescue whistle within. That’s all for pockets, but there’s a ruggedized clip mount for strobes, gps, radio.. etc., and straps that could accommodate other small accessories. Overall the form factor and fit is pretty solid for the money.. a follow-on review after a day on the water is coming soon.

Very well fitting lifejacket for my new kayak. Good options (lanyard look and small pocket), but I have not used them yet. Fits very well on my 6'0 225 frame, with no limitations of movement. I have not yet gone overboard, but confident it will be there for me. I hope this helps you decide.
