I know Onyx lists this as a more traditional coffee, which it might be, in the grand scheme of things related to specialty coffee but not as a whole. It does have that chocolatey tasted buried deep down inside, but I get a lot of berrylike acidity with a hint of something floral. In a latte it has a unique flavor, sweet but fruity. So, if you want something that walks the line of modern and traditional, I think this might be a good choice for you. But if you want a nice cup of nostalgia, at a much higher standard than commodity coffee, maybe try their Eclipse instead. Both are good for different reasons. I know it says medium-dark but, for me, it is medium at best. And I know it is listed as being intend for milk drinks, but I like it as a straight shot best. More of a lungo to be specific. Having said all of that, it is a good coffee, for the right person. I will buy it again.

This is excellent coffee. I’ve bought it multiple times. I’m sure the price reflects their mission (quality, truth and accountability in coffee), but it is still expensive compared to other companies that have a similar mission. The packaging is awesome, and probably drives that price up.

I looked at several lists of top, espresso beans, and this came up as a great traditional blend that combines great with milk. Between the description and the appearance, it seems like a perfect gift for a friend of mine. Unfortunately, I was a little bit disappointed by both the taste and appearance. I find it hard to believe that this is classified as a medium – dark roast, it seems more like a light – medium or medium at best. Especially when paired with milk, like for lattes, the flavor seemed very muted. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the flavor, but I know everybody has personal preferences on that - for some people, it might be perfect. The packaging was damaged when it arrived, so that was a disappointment since I purchased it as a gift for someone. Honestly, it’s a fine espresso blend, I just think you pay a little more than it’s worth.
