The OnlyLucky Twin sized mattress is an actual and real mattress that ships to you in a vacuum sealed roll, in a box. It is NOT a memory foam mattress, however. The bottom part of this mattress has individually wrapped spring coils, while the top is a layer of memory foam. The memory foam topper feels the same way a traditional pillow top mattress feels, and it's got good rebound. The mattress is firm, has really good support, and when you sit, you can tell the edges are reinforced. There is a small amount of springy bouncy to it when you get up, and you can tell it has springs in it, without being able to feel the individual springs. The mattress is what I call an "all-in-one" because a box spring is not required with this mattress. As before, the springs are built in. There are thick straps on both sides to make moving it easier, and I appreciate that. The outermost material feels smooth and is quilted, giving the pillow top a plush feel. As mentioned, this mattress is not fully memory foam , nor a traditional mattress and box springs, and is made a bit differently. It's an 11" inch high mattress (I measured a full 12 inches, but the ad says it's 11 inches) and you'll need to have deep pocket fitted sheets to cover it properly. This isn't the type mattress with a removable cover, so you'll want to use a mattress protector with it, but I expect it last years with proper care. Mine only arrived yesterday and I'm sure it's fully plumped up since I broken the vacuum seal last night, but the instructions indicate it can take up to 48 hours to fully plump back up. Just find a clear, out of the way spot on the floor, lay down a clean sheet, then unroll all of the outer plastic first. Then you'll find the mattress inside another plastic vacuum sealed bag. Make sure to unroll the mattress all the way and lay it flat BEFORE cutting the vacuum packaging or you could get hurt. There are 3 of us in my house who b tested the mattress, a 200lb man, a 150 lb man, and then me, a 95 lb woman. The general consensus is that it's firm, it doesn't stink at all, it's quite comfortable, and it feels like a good, well-made mattress. I made videos of the unboxing, but they won't post. I'll just advise that it plumps up pretty quickly, but the cutter they send to open the plastic didn't work great for me. A ended up carefully using a razor blade to make a small cut to break the vacuum and it worked fine.

Unboxed this twin mattress on a quiet Sunday afternoon and let it expand while I cleaned up the room. By the time I came back it had fully fluffed up and didn’t have any strong smell which was a relief. The first time I lay on it I noticed the firm feel right away but not in a stiff uncomfortable way. The top gel layer has a gentle cushion that evens out the firmness so I don’t feel pressure on my shoulders or hips. It’s been going in a kid’s room but I’ve tested it a few times myself when reading bedtime stories and it holds weight really steadily without dipping in the middle. The edges are surprisingly solid. When my kid sits on the side to lace shoes in the morning it doesn’t collapse or wobble which makes the routine smoother. The pocket springs keep things quiet when they roll over at night and I don’t hear that squeaky sound older mattresses make. The firmness actually helps keep their back straight and they seem to wake up less restless. The height makes the bed look more “grown up” too which they enjoy. One tiny thing is the cover texture feels a bit plain but it’s easy to throw a sheet on so it doesn’t bother us. What matters more is that it sleeps cool even on warm nights and doesn’t trap heat. After a few weeks it still feels the same as the first night which gives me confidence it will hold up well. Overall it’s been a great and comfortable upgrade that fits nicely in a kid’s room and makes bedtime noticeably smoother.

I needed a good twin mattress for my son's new loft bunkbed. We upgraded his full sized bed to a futon loft bed for his gaming fun. We didn't want a standard twin mattress but something more comfortable. This hybrid mattress sleeps so well. It has the right amount of give, but is supportive. It came super vacuum packed, but inflated quickly, though we gave it 48 hours to be fully inflated. We did keep it on our screened in back porch to make sure it didn't do any significant off gassing that memory foam has. The weather was right for it and we did make sure to sun it during the day to help freshen it up. We didn't have any scent lingering after doing this. It fits well into the twin loft. It is heavier than most twin mattresses you get, so it did take two of us to get it safely up there. It takes standard twin sheets and the sheets stay on without issue. He sleeps more soundly and sleeps on it more than falling asleep on his futon. He wants to climb into his new bed even when he is super tired. He is happy, so we are all happy. No more cranky, tired teenager here.
