I purchased this paddle based on the reviews in May 2023 when I first started. I got excited because it listed the paddle as carbon fiber as the material, but I think it's made of graphite. It's fine for a beginner, but if you are going to spend 100 dollars later on for another paddle, you should just invest 100 dollars from the get go on the Vatic Pro Prism Carbon Fiber 16mm instead. So if you decide to upgrade later on for a better paddle at least you will have two usable carbon fiber paddles. I ended up purchasing the Bread and Butter Filth a couple of months later after getting used to playing PB and just purchased the SixZero Double Black paddle. So skip the Z5 and go see the Youtube videos on the Vatic Prism and see for yourself how nice of a paddle you will get. ... show more

The racket is a popular choice among beginners, I like the surface which is quite hard and will not retain dirts. It is better to mention that it is 11mm, which is exactly for beginners, once you need to practice dinks or drop shots, you will need a 16mm or 14mm.
