  • Off-brand knock off? No branding visible and oxidized??
The live center looked more or less like someone else generic one they had before selling it. Haphazardly packaged to look even less like a legit one way live center. There is no model number, serial, or even any type of branding to suggest that this is a one way... like the ones in the picture or even on their site itself. Not sure how or why one way would release a non branded piece from their warehouse to this seller. The lice center itself was wrapped in bubble wrap with the extra pieces just in the box. The threaded head of the live center, as pictured, looks oxidized and full of black particulate. The brass is oxidized as well. This isn’t rust inhibitor as with other pieces you’d get with other companies. The head doesn’t spin freely. Everything in this box screams off brand generic fakes. The heads are a machines aluminum and feel light and cheap too. Probably going to work towards a refund for this... ... show more

  • Seems useful, but scratches easily
Pros: + Interchangeable thread-on tips/adapters can handle a variety of shaped pieces. + Seems to run smoothly and quietly, in my limited use so far. Cons: - The tips/adapters are made of aluminum, which is very soft and easily gouged. One of the parts that I have not yet used already has a gouge in it, from knocking against other centers (steel) on my bench. I guess they will be ruined if I ever slip and touch one with a lathe cutting tool during use. ... show more

  • The great Oneway Live Center!
This really is a high quality live center. It is very versatile, it can be used as a normal 60 degree center with the small cone or with the large cone. You can flip the large cone and use it as a cylinder to turn spindles and let it auto locate the center for you. One other thing I like is that you can turn any size piece you need soft touch or jam chuck, drill and tap to a 3/4- 10 thread and screw it onto this live center in order to touch up or repair a bowl or other piece. There is a learning curve for getting the best out of the Oneway live center but it is so versatile its worth it. ... show more

  • Good quality and very solid live center.
This is a really nice live center and I'm very glad I bought it. It has it's place in my shop but I tend to reach for the Nova Live Center System (which is cheaper) first. It's just easier for me to deal with in my work. The Oneway center is great for making jigs if you have a 3/4-10 tap and (for me) it's a lot easier to tap a block of wood then turn a #2 morse taper for my fixtures. I am a bit concerned about the longevity of the aluminum cones but the up side is they won't dull your tools as quickly as a run in with steel. When I first got this center the bearings seemed a little rough but has since smoothed out and run very well. I would definitely recommend this live center if you need a threaded center or a large inverted cone support. It's a quality tool. ... show more

  • A good quality versatile tool.
Bought this live center along with a 1-1/4x10 adapter to match my Powermatic lathe. This enables me to chuck my work from both ends and then reverse ends and finish the bottoms of my projects very easily. There are also solid aluminum cones available that will thread right onto this live center. I have one cone that tapers from 2 to 6" diameter and one that tapers from 4 to 8" in diameter. While I was making a 16" diameter vase, I turned down a 16" diameter cone out of wood that I was able to attach to this Oneway live center using an adapter and a faceplate. The Oneway live center handled it with no problem. The vase was 44" long, 16" in diameter and weighed 45 pounds. In brief, this is a great versatile quality tool. I am going to buy another one soon. ... show more

  • Great Live Center
Honestly it was between the Oneway and Robust live center sets (if you notice each manufacturer sells the same set). But I liked the price of the Oneway more than the Robust, and I know there are a lot of good reviews of the Oneway live center. So far I've been impressed. Oneway has a reputation for making good products. ... show more

  • A Quality Addition to My Lathe
After reading many reviews and seeing so many woodturner videos featuring this live center I added it to my tool cabinet. I am very pleased with the performance and versatility of this tool. There is nothing wrong with the center that came with my lathe (a Nova DVR), but you know from the first use that this will be a tool that improves the quality of your work and the versatility that the OEM live center lacks. It's worth the money! ... show more

  • Great live center
I've been wanting a Oneway live center for years. I've seen the pros use them and that means to me Oneway is the best.
