  • The quality feel of the whole unit was a very pleasant surprise.
First off, although I am a combat veteran, that was 30 years ago and I didn't go into law enforcement or even keep training on my own, so I am no expert in 2023. I think I was more impressed with the scope than the IR. It's one of the nicest scopes I've ever had...but that's not saying much I guess. I haven't been able to really use it so far, but I did get it rough zeroed and I figured out how to use the IR half. The larger lenses, the fit and finish, and detail make the scope feel like a high quality piece. The IR works exactly like the YouTube guys say it does. If you do your homework and watch some reviews I think you'll know what you're getting. Even after all the homework I did, somehow I didn't understand that the scope is a lighted reticle and that it has it's focus and recital brightness in the middle of the scope on an extra turret in the middle. That makes a huge difference over my big ol' ancient scope, I've had for 30 years, with the focus on the far end, where you cant reach it. I will say that the built in IR illuminator is ok but there a spot out around 50 or 75 yards where the illuminator can't reach on it's lower brightness level but if I turn it up one level OR use that "zoom" magnifying lens, it will just wash everything out to the point that it's harder to see out there and not helping. There's the possibility that I don't know how this unit works, OR that I didn't set it up right...but pretty sure I did. I think I'll buy a quality IR high output flashlight. Out here in the middle, I have white light flashlights, that will light out to a quarter mile for varmints and security. I think the IR version of those flashlights will help a lot. The only real gripe is the IR units record menu, and the "take still picture" menu, is NOT very intuitive. It's such a nice unit it's a shame the interface couldn't have been thought out better. I'm still working with it and I might figure it out better. Either way, I'm happy with both parts, separately, and taken together as a unit. ... show more

  • Works Well
Better than the competition in this price range and challenges those higher in price. It adds a bit of weight and is bulky but, very usable and the night vision is very good. The detachable night vision component works very well as a monocular NV device.

  • Heavy, but works decent enough for the price.
Works well enough, needs a better illumination. It's heavy.

  • Good scope but night vision is somewhat lacking
Scope works fine but the night vision is really tricky to use and it doesn't work well at powers beyond 4 on the variable power scope

  • RapidFire Scope no-go by itself, but Amazon made it work. Yea!
A fantastic day/night scope system, with a big 'BANG' for the buck, but buying the monocular first (to evaluate) the system proved to make it more difficult. I watched many youtubes and concluded buying the 'plus' system was the best buy for the money, but I couldn't find a reasonable way to order the scope alone which, I realized, was best for this UV day/night system without having to pay $thousands. It seems that buying the 2 components individually is much more expensive than the 'plus' option. After months of searching, I discovered as a prime member I could order the whole system for under $38 a month for 1 year ($451). I had to get the Amazon prime card to get a $100 discount, but that made it the best deal I've seen, and I took it. No regrets. It's a fantastic day/night scope system for that price. (I'll settle for getting 2 monoculars -- I could use two, anyhow, since I have a few suitable rifles that I can use, along with a good Leupold scope) ... show more

  • Worth the money
Bought this as a gift and he has used it on his gus as well as using it alone just to look across the field for coyote. The night vision works great. Very well worth the money.

  • Inexpensive NV 4U!
HD 3x12 scope. Small/intuitive monocular. Unlike a "heat scope," this cannot see through brush OR heavy FOG at night. Otherwise you can get into NV for $525.00. My Trijicon "Reap IR" scope was $8k. Go finger.

  • Nite vision does not work
Two days of charging and only the the charging lite works. the scope came with all mounting parts with a battery for the reticle. The scope is not great but is alright for the price. The nite vision does not work!
