My original Flight set is 20 years old and have never had any rust spots on the utensils. We usually rinse them off after using but not always. I find them very comfortable to hold. One thing to note is that the knives in this set don't have quite as thick of a handle as the ones I got 20 years ago but that's not a problem for me and can get more in the utensil tray. I personally don't like the salad fork (wider fork) so we don't use that piece. These utensils will last a lifetime! We decided to go with 18-0 to get rid of residual metals from the filler metals. That was the first reason we got these. Second reason - they are pretty. Very well balanced. The butter knife came with a deep scratch, but I was able to find a replacement on Amazon. The manufacturer will NOT honor their guarantee when bought through a third party. Just be aware of that. I have purchased other Oneida utensil sets in the past and they seemed to be a little heavier than these. Also, the two different spoon sizes are not all that different. However, I am very happy with them. They are pretty and as pictured.

Oneida is the name brand I grew up with. I bought this as a spare set for entertaining. It’s lightweight and durable. I considered Mikasa 18/10 stuff, off-brand stuff, commercial grade, and I settled on a known quantity. I actually got compliments at our family party. Our everyday flatware is a Waterford set. I spent quite a bit of money on the set I had at a major mall anchor store and have been in a hate relationship with them since then. They were horrible so I was hesitant to purchase another set. I got these for Christmas (2018) and these are fabulous! They don't get spots in the dishwasher or rust spots like my old set did. There are two sizes of forks and two sizes of spoons but I think the small forks are just a little too small, even for my (female) hands. They're elegant enough for special occasion and perfect for every day use. I wish I had purchased these the day after my old set, it would have saved me years of frustration! ... show more
