  • For the size and minimal aspect of it... incredibly sturdy even in odd configurations
The sturdiness of this can not be overstated. I am extremely happy with that aspect of it. I don't expect anything that would fit the footprint of the arms to be able to wiggle this whatsoever. The only improvements I would make would be on the bottom portion it is impossible to set anything across it with the way the angled reinforcements are. This isn't really an issue, but it does mean that if whatever you are looking at setting underneath it on the table surface won't really be feasible unless it is less than the width of the stand and can fit in between the support feet. This might be hard to state in a review, but I hope you understand what I mean. I have a couple of these half off of the surface of the table and they still are heavy enough to support anything on them. I have used clamps to secure the feet to the surface as a precautionary measure. The soft pads are fairly isolating and there is no noise introduced to anything on them or through them. They also serve as fairly decent antiskid pads although depending on the surface you are using them on your mileage may vary. I don't foresee it really ever being a problem though. The bars that go across the back to hold the two sides together are indeed may out of plastic and would be the first failure point if these stands were to fail. They are hard plastic and because of there being two seem to reinforce each other in a way where the load is shared. The angle of the rear piece with the holes not being vertical is the reason this occurs as the top bar has tension forward and the bottom bar as tension to the rear. This is obviously thought out from an engineering standpoint. This is most likely the main reason why these can be sold at this price. Overall, I am entirely pleased with these stands. I have used them for a variety of uses including keyboards, synths, and laptops. They are even strong enough to hold CDJs although I don't believe they are rated for such so I would not recommend that use officially. If a version 2 would to be made with metal poles and screws instead of plastic I would have no reason to believe they wouldn't hold whatever you can put on them. You could probably stand on them at that point. ... show more

  • This thing is the bomb.
Just ordered another one by clicking on the “Order Again” button… from my last purchase six years ago. Once you assemble it, it’s solid as a rock and stays that way. I use it every day at my office, but now that I’m working from home a whole lot more I want one for my study too. I’m not a DJ or anything, just prefer to elevate my screens to eye level, and that includes my 2019 Macbook Pro 16”. One nice little feature is that my landline phone at work nestles into the base beneath the laptop like it was made for it… been living there since 2014. ㌨ ... show more

  • Very sturdy, only problem is the bottom support metal.
This is a great laptop holder and I got it as a riser and for DJing, so my only problem is the portion below that touches the table. The problem is the metal isn't completely flat on the bottom, and because of that you can't put anything under it without it being slanted. This isn't a malfunction but is part of the design, so if what I said is a problem to you, you should look else where. Other than that, this stand is great for holding things and is very sturdy. I am using it for a 15 inch MacBook and I have no doubt at all that this will last for a while and will not drop it. ... show more

  • More room on desk, less strain on neck. Good product.
I began looking into desktop stands for my laptop for one reason, to improve my ergonomic environment. My work involves usnig the computer every day, and I was having severe tension issues in my neck with the laptop sitting down on the desk. Raising the computer has helped immensely with that. I now look straight ahead at the monitor and there is no strain on my neck. Since owning it I have noticed a secondary benefit: I now have room for my wireless PC keyboard. My varied tasks require the use of a PC as well as my MacBook Pro, and I've always had a problem with the extra PC keyboard taking up space on the desk. Now, when I'm not using the PC, the keyboard stows nicely beneath the new laptop stand, and with the elevation tabs in the up position it fits perfectly over the stand supports. Since the Mac is now elevated I purchased an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard to keep on the desk, but it's small and easy enough to move aside, so it has not added to desk clutter. Most of the clutter on my desk is not a result of computer equipment anyway :) Other laptop stands that I've researched did not have sufficient elevation. The lowest setting on the LPT5000 is high enough for me, and actually higher than the maximum setting on most other stands, plus it's adjustable up from there. As a musician I work with a small MIDI keyboard controller on occasion, and it fits partway under this stand, increasing ease of use (since I do my music work on the Mac) and reducing desktop clutter. Other reviews mention that the design of the bottom supports prevents certain equipment from fitting beneath the stand. That may be true, but it depends on the application. Also, you could easily put some rubber feet on the bottom of any component to raise it a half-inch and it would fit better. It's a little bit of a pain in the neck to assemble, no pun intended, but it makes up for that in performance. Don't worry about the sturdiness or quality of this stand, it's solid and secure. ... show more

  • Great Laptop Stand!
My husband is a computer guru and wanted a laptop stand so he could have more desk space for his multiple monitors and computer gadgets. He found this one because it was the cheapest out of all of the ones listed so he decided to give it a try. He has had it for a couple years already and it's been great. He is rough with his things and it is still working well for him. It holds his laptop about a foot off his desk and, since he uses a separate keyboard for typing, the added height of the laptop doesn't affect how comfortable typing is for him. This stand has bumpers on the front so your laptop won't slide off. It's also been helpful lately because our twin toddlers are into everything so it keeps the laptop out of reach of little hands (for now). All in all, it's been great for him and he would recommend this stand to anyone wanting one for their laptop. It's durable and a good value for the money. ... show more
