  • Great Gaming computer for the Price
I bought this computer to replace my HP Omen 30L. I was ready for an upgrade but didn't need anything too crazy. This Gaming PC was at the perfect price and works great and has the room to expand if I choose too. Plus HP has great customer service

  • Love the Omen, great gaming experience
Set up was very easy. Plug and go. Better than expected and is very fast. Handles every game I play at high FPS(+144fps easy) and at max graphics.

  • My first ever pc
This is my first ever pc. I gotta say, it's amazing. I have the 4070ti version and it has blown me away. My only gripe is the cable management. In the pictures, it looks nice. Mine, not so much. It's not so bad that I'm gonna try to re do it all myself, which I won't do mostly because I'm a little bit scared to, but it's definitely kinda disappointing. It's easy to clean, it hasn't gotten loud yet, no lagging so far. So, I'd say so far so good. ... show more

  • Great while it worked.
Worked great for just long enough that I can't send it back. Started beeping and when it finally came on the bitlocker that should have been disabled when I swapped to a local account had encrypted my computer. Didn't have a key so a month of character design is gone, and I would be okay with that but when I reinstalled windows the internet wouldn't and still won't work. Still working on getting help with that. ... show more

  • Very nice case, good off the shelf gaming system, some cost cutting in the components
I struggled with finding the audience for this review. You can look up the specs, you can look up HP's website, and you can look up professional reviews from many PC websites complete with benchmark numbers and detailed breakdowns. This PC is expensive, and if you're a tech enthusiast I suspect you've already read those reviews and would've decided if this PC is right for you. But if you're reading the Amazon user reviews for this PC, maybe you're buying for a family member and gaming PCs are not your thing. If that's the case and you're good with the price, then I'd recommend buying this PC. It will make your gamer happy. It's not the best in capability or best in value, but it is a solid gaming PC. It is also simple to setup and looks quite impressive. The case is what gives this PC it's bling, but it is rather large due to the "cryo chamber" cooling setup. Instead of housing the CPU cooling inside the main body of the case, a separate compartment is built on the top of the case containing the fan and radiators. This opens up much more airflow to these fans, allowing the system to be surprisingly quiet overall. It is an innovative design, and HP even sells the case by itself. The components inside the case are mostly respectable and make a solid gaming setup. The CPU, combined with the custom cooling setup, is great. Memory at 16GB and only a 1TB drive seem like a cost cutting measure. Although they're both brand components (Kingston and WD respectively), memory is only 16GB, the minimum for modern PCs, and the drive is a mid tier SN570 model. For the price, I would've expected 32GB ram and gaming speed or larger NVMe drive. The GTX 4070ti graphics card is great and probably accounts for 1/3 of the purchase price. I think the above should be sufficient to make a buying decision for the non-techie. But in case you're curious about the parts and components used in this PC, I dug a little deeper. The motherboard left me a little disappointed. There are only two NVMe slots and two PCIe slots, one occupied by the video card (the free one is a PCIe x4 gen3). There are 4 SATA ports. You can overclock things in the bios, but its not user friendly as every value is entered manually. The power supply is a 1200W ATX 3.0 Cooler Master, but a custom model built for HP. It provides plenty of power and has the 12VHPWR connector for the GTX card. However, the PS does not have modular cables (all hard wired), and it is *criminal* that it comes with only 3 SATA power connectors. Since one of the SATA power connectors is used to power the fan array (there's a fan hub on the back of the case), you only have 2 left to power the MB's available 4 SATA ports! If you're planning to customize this PC, you'll need to replace the some key components (PS, motherboard, NVMe, and add memory). It will be a good amount of work but the case, CPU, GPU, and cooling gives a good start. ... show more

  • Both a thing of beauty, and a beast.
From the very first time I started up the HP OMEN, it has run like a dream. Coming from using an Alienware m17 R3 for the last few years that ran crazy hot with loud fans that never stopped, this runs unbelievably silent. To the point that if there were no lights and the case wasn't transparent so you can see the innerworkings, one likely wouldn't even know it was on. I did see someone else mentioned that a fan or something in their case made a slight clicking sound, but fortunately mine does not. So it's possible that's an issue specific to that unit and not something that all of them are having issues with. As expected the lighting is fully customizable. The lighting on the front panel was what I was curious about. While I figured the internal LEDs could be set how you want them, the front circular lights were what I was most interested in. Not only are they customizable, but you can adjust them in the settings to perfectly match any other colors you might be running on something else. Something amazon HP has included in this is the simplest, easiest, most amazing way to get inside your case to do upgrades. There's a button...yes a button you push and the side of the case pops right off. Gone are the days of needing to unscrew something and gently ease parts of the case apart. With this you push a button and you're in. Inside the case there is an Omen cooling block, which moves heat from the CPU into the top of the unit where there's a chamber with fans to cool and move the air out. With the Omen software that's included, you can control every last detail of your computer's cooling, fan speeds, etc. Lots of customization options here. You can really max this thing out and even set the fans to a very powerful maximum speed if needed. However over the last few weeks of gaming on this, I've never needed to adjust the fan speed at all. For 4k gaming, this computer is outstanding. My last system did well, but this one handles it on a whole other level. Also, I have a Valve Index VR set and when setting it up with my Alienware laptop using a thunderbolt dock (running dual monitors, mouse, external keyboard), I ended up needing to order extra adapters to get everything displaying correctly in the headset. That worked for a while, then the dock went out entirely on me. Thankfully I was already in the process of upgrading to the OMEN, so I didn't replace it. With this system, I'm back to gaming on a desktop with more than enough ports for everything. Dual monitors, RGB gaming pad, Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro keyboard, Razer Basilisk, VR headset and plenty of room for more. The OMEN does come with a keyboard and mouse, but both are kind of laughable. If you're spending this kind of money on a gaming system, you're not going to want to use the keyboard/mouse combo that comes with this. If you didn't have anything else, then yeah they're there. But know they are very basic. There's so much cool stuff to this system, the more I use it and get further into what it can do the more it impresses me. Note also that the case for this is a full size tower, significantly larger than the mid size tower so many systems are made with. This one is a beast, and I love it. ... show more
