I’m new to barbells, so I didn’t want to spend a lot. Ordered the 5-foot (60-inch) as an Amazon Warehouse deal, only $59, and am very pleased with this bar. The sleeves rotate on brass bearings, and the bar, although 2 feet shorter than the official Olympic spec, is long enough for a beginner planning on light use. The bar grip is wide enough for me , although I’m sure it would not be adequate for someone looking for serious weight training. It’s also about one-third the price of a full-spec 7-foot Olympic bar. The 5-foot bar weighs 24-1/2 pounds. I have a few Olympic weight plates I use with an existing bench/exercise machine, I’ll use those plates on the bar, with a total weight of about 100 pounds. While this isn’t much, it’s a lot more than the twin 25-lb dumbbells I’ve been using. If and when I start bench pressing over 100 pounds I’ll consider buying more weight plates and upgrading this bar. If I get into weight training this bar will quickly prove inadequate, but for now it’s an inexpensive way to try out using a barbell. Many weight sets come with 300 pounds of weights, I have no expectation of ever wanting or needing that much weight. One note: Many reviewers are complaining about long delivery times, late, or non-deivery. One tip is to click on the seller to check the seller rating, if it’s below about ninety-five percent that’s an indication that the seller is unreliable and should be avoided. I’ve always had good luck with any Amazon Warehouse deal. Also, avoid any brand-new sellers with little or no buying history. ... show more

I have a home gym in one of my bedrooms so space is a little limited. I needed a shorter Olympic barbell for certain exercises. Now when I do landmine presses and barbell hip thrusts in the same superset, I have room for both! This 5ft barbell is perfect. It’s sturdy and priced accordingly.

This bar is exactly what I needed to up my home workout. With this bar I am able to do a lot of exercises I was able to preform at the gym. I was worried about the size of the bar fitting in my room, but I got the 5ft 2 inch bar and it is perfect. I would highly recommend this bar if you are tired of just using barbells. The description says this is a 130lb SET that includes the barbell and weight plates. It also says you will receive the items in multiple packages. I only got the bar and there's no evidence that anything else will be shipped, despite it being advertised as a set. I'm obviously dumb for believing I'd receive all of that for such a low price, but the description literally says it's a set with bar and weights and describes both in detail. All the other reviews are only mentioning a bar, so I have no idea what's going on with this listing. Even the picture includes the weights. ... show more
