I have to agree with the other reviewer that it feels really soft when you first get on it, but after an hour or so it really is flattened out and provides less support. Going to bed it feels fine but by morning it often feels like some of the support offered is gone. I didn't have any problems with offgassing for mine, it had some smell when opened but wasn't too bad after a few minutes. Mine had "inflated" within about 3 hours, and to a full, and actual 3 inches as advertised. Much better than nothing, but a firmer foam would be better, but maybe that is all down to preference. ... show more

I am pretty impressed with this foam topper. It opened up fairly quickly, however I did give it the recommended 48 hours to fully expand and to allow the odor to dissipate. I have been sleeping on it for about a week or so and so far I am very pleased. I don't typically do well with memory foam toppers because they seem to lack the level of support needed to be able to move and change positions without causing significant muscle strain. While there is still a bit of that with this topper it is far better than any other one I have tried....and I have tried several! It is definitely 3 inches thick and you will want to keep this in mind with the type of sheets you have. Deep pockets are a must! It has helped with my aches and pains. It isn't a 100% fix but it's so much better and for the price is pretty great compared to others I have purchased. I will give some advice if you are on the fence between the 2 inch or 3 inch. I ordered both because I was concerned that the 3 inch would be too thick. Even though they are by the same company, the 2 inch is pretty much worthless. It has ZERO support and firmness. I was shocked at how easily it just totally compressed. You honestly will get a more cushioned support from a mattress pad! It also took about 4 days before the odor totally dissipated and it was so strong that I could smell it in my hallway when I passed by the room. This may be one of the most basic memory foam toppers you can buy. It’s two inches thick (probably an optimum memory foam mattress would be three or four inches), and it doesn’t come with a cover. But then again, the price reflects that; it’s one of the lowest-priced memory foam toppers I’ve seen. It depends what you’re looking for. In my case, I wanted this for a full-sized open-up futon. The futon mattress was, when I purchased that set, high end, with springs. After a couple of decades and many, many guests (some more permanent than others), I really need to replace that mattress. But in the meantime, this seemed to be a good solution to put on top of that old mattress. And it is. Because of the height of the mattress it rests on, and the height of the arms of the fold-out couch, 2” was a perfect size for the topper. Anything thicker would have been bit too tall for the futon. It is very comfortable and cradles you. It’s not extra firm; it’s soft and cloudlike. As with many similar items, and as my photos show, this comes tightly compressed and rolled up, and the manufacturer advises you to open it up and let it rise for a day or two. In this case, it expanded to its full two-inch thickness (I measured it) within less than a day. As they also advise, it initially had a very slight odor, but nothing that bothered me, and it went away within the day. This has little holes for ventilation, and also comes with a three-year warranty. Unlike some other similar products, this comes with phone numbers, as well as an email address, if you need support (no pun intended). That’s a big plus. If this were twice as expensive, as some memory foam mattresses this size are, I’d give it four stars, but for the price, I’m rating it a five. If you’re looking for a comfortable memory foam topper this size and this thickness, this is a good buy. ... show more
